Jeff, listen to me carefully.
PC is a chimera; a non-entity.
Critics argue that "political correctness" implies censorship and endangers free speech by limiting what is in the public discourse, especially in universities and political forums.
But, while there are undoubtedly "textbook" examples of people censoring their own expression beyond reason, it is my opinion that many of the most vociferous participants in Yahoo Answers (and 360º) use the expression "PC" as a very thin excuse to just be blatantly insulting.
Their "opposition" to "political correctness" is nothing more than dissemblance; a smokescreen or camo to disguise their own insults, slurs, labels and invectives at those of opposing political philosophies.
Name-calling is akin to hitting your opponent over the head with a club, an approach to issues that should have been left with the cave dwellers. Rational, fact-filled argumentation is one of civilization’s greatest achievements.
All people in a free society benefit when discourse is civil, which means that it should be reasoned, fact-filled, literate, specific, and respectful of the moral standards of the majority. Let us think and speak clearly and with the best of intentions.
Honesty doesn't mean a complete gut-spilling, nor does it require that harsh or cruel words be used to convey one's honest thoughts.
Thoughts or opinions need not be expressed in the most offensive way.
Anyone with maturity, language skills and a decent-sized vocabulary is not concerned about "PC."

PC movement? Truthful in what respect? Or do you mean you should be able to call people names and not respect them as individuals and have total disregard for them as a person so you can be "truthful".

The "PC movement" is good for all concerned.
It helps us all tolerate each other, no matter what our differences of culture, religion, ethnicity, and other factors.
Hate and violence, only begets more hate and violence, and this "PC movement" helps to stop. We are all citizens of ONE planet. It's a rather small planet, and if we are ALL to survive, we have to get along with each other, and treat each other as we wish to be treated.

To tell you the truth Jeff, it doesn't look good. I think people are spending too much time reading goofy post. I just read one about 28 minutes ago, that claims our founding fathers were not Christians. OMG,,, I need to take a sedative. She was probably taught that in Y/A instead of school, you know, we have to leave religion out of school now a days.

Please provide credible reference to "PC movement ", and how it prevents you from being truthful.
You people scared you may have lost you "N" word, and your white hoods might not be as scarey without it??
What is a "PC movement"? a twenty-thousand dollar word, for "I got in trouble by my producer for saying something on TV or radio, that I shouldn't have"?

Who says that the politically correct are being untruthful?
Truth is, after all, subjective.

Correct and incorrect, if a political view can change the difference between them than we have to accept that correctness is a relative notion and going farther, irrelevant.

I never could completely grasp the PC thing. I thought it had fallen by the wayside. I have been informed it is alive and well. That's too bad.
