No, "liberals" don’t think that the US government (officially or unofficially) PURPOSEFULLY caused 9/11. You are confusing "liberals" with "conspiracy nuts". Its a common "conservative" belief that everyone that doesn't agree with them is a nutty extremist. It is, however, almost undeniable that many of the economic and political behaviors of the US abroad has made for many American enemies. One could then argue that actions by the US government over the last several decades have provoked certain individuals and governments to be less than friendly to America as a whole.
Consider this: the Saudi Arabian government is extremely unpopular with its people, it is in fact just a much a dictatorship as Saddam's regime was. Are we over there "liberating" Saudi’s? No, because the Saudi government is very friendly with the US. A great majority of the people (not the wealthy oil barons of course but the legions of poor and oppressed) in Saudi Arabia know that we support the government that they hate, and so consequently hate us as well. Had Saddam remained as friendly with us as he was in the 80's we would never have kicked his @ss either.
But we digress.
Quick fact: Did you know that trade center building #7 just happened to contain the headquarters for insider trading, fraud, and corruption charges against companies like WorldCom and Enron? This building collapsed after towers 1 and 2. There was no visible external damage to the building when it collapsed.
How could a building with no structural damage collapse, assuming the official story that no explosives were inside this building?
If you really care about the truth do your own homework, and come to your own conclusions. There are things about 9/11 that cannot be made to add up. Many experts have publicly spoken out against the "official" 9/11 story.
Only a fool scoffs at evidence without examining it. don’t think that just because a republican tells you something its true because you also happen to be a republican; the same goes for democrats, and the "liberals" you so disparagingly refer to in your question.

I think Q is right. Liberals do believe that the U.S Government had something to do with the 9/11 attacks.
This of course is completely untrue. Has our government been able to more than just whine about things in its recent history? Even the war on terror has not been what it could and should have been.
Does anyone really believe that had we gone into Germany after WW1 and WW ll the way we went into Iraq and Afghanistan that they would have given up the way they did. No and why because there would have been no reason for them to surrender. Just is the case here, we have given these terrorist no reason to give up. We have not instilled confidence in the general population. Without their trust that we are their to help rebuild their country and give them the chance to have a free nation, why should they help us to stop the terrorist. Why should they risk their families lives for a nation that has no spine to back up its promises.
Politicians and the liberal media need to stay out of this war and let the soldiers do their jobs let them gain the trust of the people through their hard work and caring. Our troops are made up mostly of Mothers and Fathers who want to do the right thing. Who want to see that area gain the independence it needs to thrive. There are some pitiful troops that are highly publicized who have not done the right things and that is regrettable however they do not make up the whole of our armed forces. I love this country and I am proud of my husband who is serving it.
We need to be proud Americans, we have everything to be thankful for.

Don't you think that is a completely partisan question? Not all liberals believe the U.S. Government is responsible for 9/11. Only those on the extreme left really believe that. Most liberals I have talked to believe that terrorists were responsible for 9/11. But so far little evidence has turned up that Iraq had anything to do with 9/11. Along with reports that the Iraq war has had little effect against terrorism, if anything, has made it stronger, is what makes Liberals scream with rage. It is mine and moderate Liberals (which is the majority Liberalism in America) viewpoint that Iraq should be drawn out of and the fight taken to the the hills and mountains of Pakistan, Afganstan, Iran, India. Iraq is nothing more than a hill of beans. And the thought that Bush and his buddies believe Bin-Laden when he says "his main focus is Iraq" makes my stomach curl.

Based on the pattern of the 20th century, I would have to say that it'll be more buildings blowing up. It might or might not be accomplished by planes, but it will definitely be buildings.
Why?
Because every time the US wanted into a war the American people didn't want in the 20th century, some ship was attacked to touch it off:
Spanish American war: the Maine
WWI: Lusitania
WWII: Pearl Harbor - the Pacific Feet (little excessive of FDR, don't you think?).
Vietnam: Gulf of Tonkin - the Maddox and Turner Joy.
20th Century started with the Main, and was all ships. So, since 9/11 was buildings, it'll be buildings for the rest of the 21st century.
Hey, makes as much sense as any other Conspiracy Theory.

Bush is too stupid to have planned 9/11. He can't even complete a sentence, let alone get away with some elaborate plan.
I love how people on the right have labels for everyone they don't like. The author of this question addressed it to "Liberals" and automatically assumes all "Liberals" think 9/11 was caused by Bush. You should stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity because they are making you look ignorant.

the thing about conspiracy theorists, (and they arent all liberal. i mean some of the worst are the loonies that doubt the holocost or the anti one world government religious right crowd), is this; they arent geat thinkers. they are the worst of the worst reactionaries. reactionaries don't predict or prepare for anything. when some event happens that boggles their tiny little brains, they start making stuff up to explain it. ufo? men from mars. prez assasinated? cia did it. 9/11? DOH! man on the moon? u.s. of a. plot........although i have to say i am fascinated with the jack the ripper conspiracy, for real.
