Or is David Vitter just the latest "exception"?

My thinking is that teachers should be held accountable. I've seen too many kids that were passed to the next grade, even though they weren't ready. Teachers that move students to the next grade before they're ready should suffer some type of consequence.

Thoughts?

I see them get caught after jumping the border when I'm at work. Do they get put in jail after they are sent to Mexico, or are they even placed in jail at all? And don't they have to wait a long time before they can try and legally come to the US?

I am a Navy DEPPER, and will be shipping early next year. Signed my initial contract, and during my annual physical with my personal physician, he feels that I suffer from depression and is impressing that I should begin a prescription program. Will this disqualify me and how do I tell my recruiter if knowing it will?

Why do we need health insurance companies? Isn't it obvious what the problems are when they are required by law to maximize profits for shareholders (like all for profit organizations)? Won't the prices of healthcare fall if no one can sue an insurance company?

Isn't it a crime to solicit a prostitute?
It seems many communities arrest the "Johns" as well as the prostitute...so, why isn't there a public outcry for his resignation as well as for his prosecution?

Your thoughts?

Former Surgeon General Dr. Richard Carmona has complained about having his speeches edited. He could not talk openly about embryonic stem cell reseach. He was not allowed to speak before a Special Olympics group because of their Democratic Party leaning. He was told that every page of his speeches had to mention the President at least three times. Has Bush used his religious beliefs to interfere with scientific research? He has done the same thing with federally funded climatologists who warn about global warning.

Ok...so there are Mexicans coming illegally to have a better life, but at the same time want to take back "Aztlan".

So, if they take back "Aztlan" wouldn't it become controlled by the Mexican government that they are trying to get away from?

Have they REALLY thought this whole thing through? It doesn't make sense to me. Come here for a better life, whine and cry about giving the land back to Mexico so that the Mexican government will have control over that land.

DUH!

Sorry- sad fact.
Countries like Canada, Singapore, Thailand and many others make a fortune off the mainly American medical refugee- for whom it is cheaper to travel & get 1st class health care elsewhere than to pay insurance and be treated like crap in their own nation.

It's really sad & sick isn't it?

Surely this can't be the America your greatest generation fought for?

He hasn't made it official yet, but he's going to run. He's been waiting it out and building support. I think McCain will go down and his supporters will be with Thompson. Giuliani has nothing, I don't even know who supports him beyond retired New Yorkers living in Florida. Mitt Romney? Doubtful. I like Ron Paul, again doubtful.

Two years ago a crazy girl was telling people my husband raped her. It never happened, he never touched her. She had accused another guy of rape a year before. She tried to file charges but it was thrown out. No evidence and the detective knew what type of girl he was dealing with. Because of this crap it costed my husband a year suspension from his coaching job. We live in a small community and she's still telling everyone he raped her. It's horrible. Anyone who knows him doesn't believe it but not everyone knows him. We were at a festival this weekend and she kept going where we were. She followed us around and was even dancing in front of my husband. We have 3 small children and I want to know if there's anything I can do about this. I know nothing about slander laws. Can we get a restraining order? I would really appreciate some advice. Sorry this was so long.

Thanks, Ashley

I know that a lot of playful banter goes on, sometimes ore serious than others, but are there any particular forces/ regiments/ roles that really, actually don't see eye-to-eye?

PS, I realise there will in most cases be respect underneath the horseplay, of course.

Most home owners don't really own their homes or cars. Cons actually moan about "socialism" that benefits the people, they'd rather give that extra cash to murderers and pay more for their basic needs!

People who to this day claim that Clinton damaged the integrity of the White house by getting blown in the oval office and Bush has restored the respect the white house deserves by remaining celibate during his term as far as we can tell .
or is it
People who claim Bush is the worst President in history spending the nation into massive debt and starting an occupation in Iraq .
or is it
That people say some of the most bizarre things and defend the most insane concepts backed only by religion . Which is mythology taught as reality .

Give me your biggest complaint about others on here .

Cindy Sheehan has said that if Nancy Pelosi does not impeach Bush then she will run against her for Speaker of the House. Would you vote for her? Why or why not? Also, what are your opinions on her & her actions? Do you think she is doing this country good or is a crazed lunatic? Personally, I feel horrible for her that her son died, but she is literally crazy (yes, I'm a Republican).

SCHOOL ANSWERING MACHINE

This is the message that apparently a Secondary School staff in the
Midlands voted unanimously to record on their school telephone answering machine.

This is the actual answering machine message for the school. It came
about because they implemented a policy requiring students and Parents
to be responsible for their children's absences and missing homework.

The school and teachers are now being threatened with legal action by
some parents who want their children's failing marks changed to passing
marks - even though those children were absent 15-30 times during the
term and did not complete enough schoolwork to pass their various key
stages.

The outgoing message:

"Hello! You have reached the automated answering service of your school.
In order to assist you in connecting to the right member of staff,
please listen to all the options before making a selection:

* To lie about why your child is absent - Press 1

* To make excuses for why your child did not do his/her work- Press 2

* To complain about what we do - Press 3

* To swear at staff members - Press 4

* To ask why you didn't get information that was already enclosed in
your Newsletter and several letters posted to you - Press 5

* If you want us to bring up your child - Press 6

* If you want to reach out and touch, slap or hit someone - Press 7

* To request another teacher, for the third time this year -Press 8

* To complain about bus transport - Press 9

* To complain about school lunches - Press 0

LASTLY:

If you realize this is the real world and your child must be accountable
and responsible for his/her own behaviour, class work, homework and that
it's not the teachers' fault for your child's lack of effort:

Hang up and have a really wonderful day!

RECENTLY DURING A VISIT TO MY LOCAL WALGREENS STORE my bike was stolen. Not from the outside of the store but fm the inside; when i first arrived i asked the clerk to ask a manager to have a vagrant leave from in front of the store as is was blantanlty clear he wasnt shopping; well thats not all true, he came back in the store(after being told to leave by manager) and he took my bike from INSIDE the store. Now im having an ins adjuster call me wanting to know if i had a chain and a lock that day? why does that matter? Once the clerk gave me permission to bring it in (which they have in the past as well) i did. Basically i had a felony commited on me in walgreens. no one offered to cll the police and after i paid for the things that i came there for (75.00) i was escorted home by my fiance who came up there to console me, evidenlty no one else cared. o im sorry the manager did stop long enough to tell me right after it happened that "i made him leave 1 already do i have legal recours
