Ok...so there are Mexicans coming illegally to have a better life, but at the same time want to take back "Aztlan".

So, if they take back "Aztlan" wouldn't it become controlled by the Mexican government that they are trying to get away from?

Have they REALLY thought this whole thing through? It doesn't make sense to me. Come here for a better life, whine and cry about giving the land back to Mexico so that the Mexican government will have control over that land.

DUH!

Cincy, Mexicans from Mexico, for the most part don't believe in this myth! Its been propagated by leftist Chicano movement, started in LA....Please get your facts straight....If you go to Mexico City and say this nonsense, you will be laughed out of there....

I invite you to go visit the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City....It is the most extensive anthropological musuem in all of America, with numerous Aztec artifacts and history, there is NO mention of this anywhere of southwest America belonging to Mexico.

Did I clear it up for you? Hope so...

Mexican from Mexico, do not know anything about Aztlan, Aztlan as a home land is the dream of the Chicano Movement, All Chicanos are Mexicans but not all Mexicans are Chicanos, it is a name that you chose for yourself Chicano's are activist for the Mexican people. This movement is favored by Mecha, these groups are active on all university campuses and high school that have Mexican American student body. The only place I have heard this concept was at the University of Arizona and in the Chicano movement. Some neocon students placed the website on answers and now this word is being the rallying cry of the neocons rant, boy are you guys grasping for straws" any lie to keep and maintain a" Climate of Fear" Most Mexican Americans that are not part of the Chicano movement would not know what you are talking about.

I can't accuse the Aztlan promoters guilty of any thought. This land deal is such a joke, like we're going to give the idiots control of our southwest, talk about a myth. The Mexican government doesn't want these people and neither do we so I guess they think they deserve a new homeland, even though they have nothing to base this concept on except a fairytale. I would love to be there the day they deport the radicals I'd sing the Star Bangled Banner so loud! LMAO

In an activist context, the yank Southwest, enormously the territory of northern Mexico ceded to usa by the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo in 1848 is Aztlan. So i think of Manhatitlan (ny?) and Buffalo are in all hazard outdoors Aztlan.

Mexicans coming back to "reclaim Aztlan" is the same as me and some other people trying to reclaim Neverland. You can't reclaim something that doesn't exist. I'm sure the concept of Aztlan occured one day while one of these illegals was still in Mexico, and wandering around the desert and got sun poisioning or something... Starts having hallucinations, passes out, wakes up to see his family and tells them of some wonderous place he has been to...

I just found out an interesting thing on this. There is a faction in Mexico who wish to take back Mexico.A very violent and Anti American Faction. These same people are the ones terrorizing Mexican peasants. They pray on the weak and non violent citizens. They have even stopped buses of LEGAL day workers to the U S and robbed and killed them. They are the ones who promote Aztlan to the young and impressionable.Trying to create an uprising to overthrow the American friendly government. There is a name for them but don't have the spelling. They are associated with a gang here in the US something 13 that's all I know.Anyway,They're a bad bunch and responsible for many murders of Mexicans who are poor and just want peace.I got this information straight from a family who these people robbed at one point. They also killed one of the Aunts. They also prey on those crossing the desert illegally.Any person on here who spouts about Aztlan are either young and ill informed or just plain bad news because REAL Mexicans don't believe in it nor do they want to be associated with this radical group of terrorists.

Aztlan can't be taken back because there is no Aztlan! The southwestern US is AMERICA, not Mexico. We paid for the land and Mexico has no claim on it.

When the illegal alien criminals claim they are reclaiming they land, they are ignorant and stupid! They are believing the LIES they have been taught. Basically, THEY ARE WRONG!

I live in Southern California (AKA America). I do not live in Mexico!

You would also think that they wouldn't be trashing the land they want to take back but the border is an environmental disaster area. There is no logic involved in marxism.
