I think the answer lies in his overall appearance. He obviously does not care about health, so is he really just wanting to gripe? About anything?

I served in Afghanistan for six months during my service in the Army. I've never been to Iraq. But, a lot of my friends, who've been to Iraq, told me that they just go there to do patrols and occupy key strategic areas. Most of their time is spent training in extreme weather or spent on surfing the Internet and/or playing video games, which is kind of what I did in Afghanistan.

If we continue to send our troops over there just to occupy space, how are we ever going to win this war?

Seriously, is it even possible to catch a glimpse of victory in Iraq?

*Please keep in mind that these details are not representative of all the troops that are currently serving in Iraq/Afghanistan. I used to be in military intelligence (98C). So, my mission (and my friends' missions) might differ from many other soldiers who have more "hardcore" MOS's.

I am really not sure as to whether I should join the military. I know you dont have to have good grades to join (my gpa is 2.8), and I know you get to travel alot. I was also wondering if you could obtain certain jobs based on an intelligence test. I had my iq tested on several intelligecne test and averaged around 150. I am also currently enrolled in Mensa. I kind of have a fear of being shot and sent on some boondoggle that I do not agree with. But on the other hand, once I train I may loose my state of trepidness. Please help.

Is anyone else out there tired of driving by Sec 8 housing and seeing all of those new vehicles in the parking lots? Have you ever been behind someone on food stamps in the grocery store and think to yourself, wow, they eat better than I do, and I work for my money?

I understand that everyone, and I mean everyone needs help every now and then but there has to be a cap, doesn't there?

I think they would need sixty-some votes to do this. Do you think that if we're still in Iraq in February that they could get this passed? We see more and more Republicans turning against President Bush on the issue of the war.

Could this happen?

The Surge is only a few months old and the Democrats refuse to let it run at least the planned course. Could they be worried that it is actually working? Since they are so heavily vested in our defeat?

My landlord walks in to my apartment all the time without notice. He can come in and I could have been in the shower. He has come to the point of coming in while I am out of town and left the thermostat low and when I got back my electricity bill was $60 higher than normal. Are there any laws against this?

We are being told by illegals and supporters of illegal immigrants that this is "their land" which we bought and paid for ( just like their welfare benefits, free hospital care, food stamps etc), and that if we don't like having illegal immigrants here, we should "go back to Europe".
I for one was not born in Europe. For me to "go back there" would mean that I would be illegally entering and living in another country. I don't happen to be so low as to do that. Sort of a trashy thing to do, does anyone agree?
So, I have no other country to "go back to" as I was born here.
Sound off people.
If you are against illegal immigration, do you have another country you can "go back to" or were you born here on US soil ( counts as US soil if you are a military brat born overseas to military parents)?
No supporters of illegal immigration need answer, YOU aren't being told to leave your own country.

I am so sick and tired of being labeled a troop hater when that couldn't be farther from the truth. It's such an awful generalization that is just a blatant lie. I've supported how I can. I've sent care packages on several occasions. Just because I want the troops to get to be at home safe with their spouses and children and parents and siblings, doesn't mean I hate them. The exact opposite is true.

I've been of voting age since 1987. Living in the Peoples Republic of Daley (i.e. Chicago, Illinois), I don't get very many candidates to vote for with a chance of winning.

I've elected 2 Senators, 2 Congressmen and 1 President.

From most to least proud, the five people I have elected are as follows:

1. Peter Fitzgerald (R - Senator). He appointed Patrick Fitzgerald who the country knows convicted Scooter Libby but we here know successfully convicted George Ryan!

2. Michael Fitzgerald (R - Congressman) - He defeated the soon to be convicted Dan Rostenkowski who was convicted of several crimes related to graft in Congress. Clinton pardoned him.

3. Paul Simon (D Senator) - While I turned conservative in the early 1990s, he is still someone I consider trustworthy even though I don't agree with him on most issues.

4. George W Bush - OK with my 2000 vote, disgusted at the 2004 vote.

5. Dan Rostenkowski - Convicted felon. See #2 for details.

What are your choices?

I am the FRG leader for my husbands unit, and I am looking for any information about how much leave is permitted for a father of a newborn. We have quite a few pregnant ladies in our unit and I don't know if there is any such regulation, or if it is left up to the comanders descresion. Either way I just want to make sure I know as much as I can before I speak with our 1SG.

LONDON (AFP) - A female Muslim juror has been arrested in Britain after allegedly listening to an MP3 player under her hijab headscarf during a murder trial, police said Monday.

The woman in her early 20s was spotted by a fellow juror listening to music as she was meant to be helping try the case of a pensioner accused of bludgeoning his wife to death after 50 years of marriage.

She could now be charged with contempt of court and, if convicted, may be punished with an indefinite jail sentence and an unlimited fine.
