If so, are you ok to surrender your Constitutional rights and your Civil Liberties in exchange for what this Government has called security?

With the changes that they have made, do you feel more secure now, even though they are currently telling us that an al-Qaida cell or cells are on their way to America?

I am truly conflicted about the immigration debate. I don't care who lives in the United States, in fact, the more the merrier, but I am very, very concerned about fairness and following the law. So why is it OK to break the law to come to the U.S.? And why should people who are already in the country illegally get amnesty while there are hundreds of thousands of people trying to get in legally who would be disadvantaged? In effect, those who broke the law are rewarded for their behavior while those who follow the law get punished.

Please, only people who favor liberal immigration policies. No conservative, right-wing knee jerks.

I ask this because, okay, people complain about illegal immigrants using your funds and the kids crowding your schools, but why am I supposed to care about that? I care about making my kids's life better.

Should I say, sorry kids, I am not going to feed you because it is not fair to other kids?

My EX boyfriend is an absolute idiot. We're still friends, but I dumped him for the obvious reasons below..

He is 18 years old. In one month the boy managed to accomplish
-Collection agencies calling
-Blowing all his money on drugs
-Speeding in someone else's car with only his permit
-Stealing from burger king

The stuff he stole from burger king was only considered a misdemenor. He got a letter saying he could either pay a fine and the whole thing would be over, or he would have to show up for a court date. Well, he didn't pay the fine and he didn't show up for the court date. What will happen?

BREAKING NEWS - Just moments ago, Senate Republicans succeeded in a filibuster in which they refused to end debate on Virginia Democrat Jim Webb's S. 2012, which would have placed strict limits on National Guard and reserve deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as well as mandating more downtime at home before active-duty combat troops are returned to battle.

The vote was 56-41 to end debate, with 60 votes needed to move to a full, up-or-down vote on the Webb measure. Once again, the GOP has been successful at destroying another Democratic attempt at helping service members and their families caught in the buzzsaw of the Bush administration's lies and incompetence.

WILLINGBORO — The Pennsauken man who shot and wounded a member of the U.S. Air Force before killing himself left suicide notes that indicated he was “angry at the government and wanted to make a statement” on Independence Day, one of the man’s relatives said yesterday.

Matthew J. Marren, 22, of Walnut Avenue, drove to a home on Windsor Lane rented by Senior Airman Jonathan Schrieken, 22, at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Marren got of this vehicle, found Schrieken outside the house, shot him once in the chest with a small-caliber firearm, then turned the gun on himself, said Burlington County First Assistant Prosecutor Ray Milavsky.

Where do they get the weird idea that they have a right to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures and that that right shall not be violated, and no warrants shall be issued, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.?
Is this more evidence they are in fact socialists like the intellegent conservative posters have learned us all?But if that is the case shouldn't they be happy with a law that would make Stalin proud? Please help me understand

I just asked if today's Republican Party was for state rights or centralized federal power and all the con republicans said state rights.

My question is, since when?

The Party of Lincoln used the power of the federal government to force the southern states to end slavery.

The Party of Theodore Roosevelt used the power of the federal government to regulate big business, protect the environment, and help the American worker.

And...

Although today's southern conservative (CONFEDERATE FLAG WAVING) Republicans like to claim credit for what the northeastern/upper midwestern liberal Republicans did by voting for the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the act was an excercise in FEDERAL POWER over state rights. It was opposed by liberterians like Barry Goldwater (and his protege Ronald Reagan) for that very reason.
