WILLINGBORO — The Pennsauken man who shot and wounded a member of the U.S. Air Force before killing himself left suicide notes that indicated he was “angry at the government and wanted to make a statement” on Independence Day, one of the man’s relatives said yesterday.

Matthew J. Marren, 22, of Walnut Avenue, drove to a home on Windsor Lane rented by Senior Airman Jonathan Schrieken, 22, at about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Marren got of this vehicle, found Schrieken outside the house, shot him once in the chest with a small-caliber firearm, then turned the gun on himself, said Burlington County First Assistant Prosecutor Ray Milavsky.

They hate the troops. When they're not shooting the troops, they are spitting on them. When they're not spitting on them, they are undermining them with propaganda

Don't believe their "we support the troops, but not the war" nonsense. They hate the troops - always have, always will.

It certainly is not patriotic. Spinning the data to make it fit a right wing extremist view is typical of the nut-jobs that support the right to have a hand gun when the owner is definitely unbalanced.

Keep in mind that the 2nd Amendment has been altered and modified to the point that its original intent has long been lost. The intention was that ordinary people could protect themselves from the excesses of government intervention. Let's see, the troops arrive at my house with shoulder-mounted gattling guns, flame throwers, two tanks, chemical weapons, an Abrams M-1; and I can protect myself with a hunting rifle...maybe a hand gun.

Killing another person #1 is against the law, against a commandment, and against mankind in general. Anyone who believes that they are doing so as a way of dignifying themselves or beliefs is neither right or left. It sounds to me like there is more to the story than what on the surface. Also, patriotism, right now, is a real hard thing to have, especially if you are a soldier and you don't believe in what your "CiC" is fighting for. Just my personal opinion.

Hmmm, where does it say this man was from the left? There are plenty of conservatives who aren't too happy with the gov right now. a wacko is a wacko no matter what his politics.

This ranks right up there with that Rev. who protests homosexuals in the military by picketing the funerals of fallen US soldiers. See what I mean?

I'm not a liberal and this is rediculous. So a suicidal, obviously demented person, is now representative of all liberals? Hell I thought it'd be closer to someone wanting to outlaw all guns and smoke pot with the soldier (sarcasm).

I'm glad to see the soldier was not killed.

I think it's sad that you would put this man who was obviously delusional and in need of psychiatric help in the same category as me. I would never strike out at a member of the armed forces. I love and support our troops, my family is a military family. In fact, I love and support our troops so much that I want them out of this unfounded war.

Well. The fact that people said that this guy had emotional and mental problems and was angry at the government, and that justifies shooting someone pretty much points to liberal mentality to me.
Liberals are indifferent to anything normal, based on their own self justification.

This is a crime commited by a twisted individual.... Why would anyone use a tragedy like this to attack a political view?

I am talking about the individual AND the person who posted THIS question.

Both the left and right is extremely immature.

Let's see, a rage-filled psychopath who hated the government-sounds like a classic conservative to me.
