Starting with LBJ they went rapidly down hill.
Come Carter, they'd hit rock bottom and haven't come up since.

No its not hard to believe. Political parties will change over time. At one time Democrats were the roadblock to civil rights. Now they are considered the opposite. Those in charge of the Democratic Party (Soros, Dean, et al.) have a clear totalitarian agenda and are working it perfectly. They have forced more civil and consensus building Democrats out of the party. Just like they tried to do with Sen Lieberman.
For example, they have now taken to calling Republicans in Congress the obstructionist party. However, while they were in the minority the Democrats gave us only obstruction and non-cooperation and called themselves the "patriotic opposition."

I'd say the same thing about the Republicans party...Too bad there's no party working for the majority of the US, only neocons like you, and neolibs like Pelosi...

You're right (although I disagree with the term "neolib"... and the GOP isn't any better. Both parties suck.

AHa but "we were so much older then we're younger than that now!" Yes it is amazing! But then thinking about it maybe Harry Truman was the last honest democrat president and I'm not so sure about him, yet I confess I voted for Wild Bill, once!

It was never the best party; however, it was always a little better than the Republican party.
