N. Korea recently fired three missiles, The Clinton administration sold them super computers and gave them money which they used to buy more missiles. Since that didn't work, are there any other ideas?

Is it right that people who break the law to come to the USA should be allowed to get instant citizenship.

What about all the people who are going through the system legaly. what about the green card holders who are paying billions in taxes every year and waiting for their residency requirement to be filled so they can become citizens.

Illegals should be sent back to where they came from.

I read elsewhere that Japan had anticipated that if they attacked Pearl Harbor they would buy thierselves 3 years in which time Germany would have conquered Britain and that the US would have no choice but to concede to a deal to end the war.

But I find this hard to believe being that Hitler had opened up the eastern battle front and invaded Russia just 6 months prior to Pearl Harbor.

Also my understaning is that Japan had given up in its battle with Russia earlier becuase of substantial losses due to the fact that other than thier air and sea capabilities the soldiers had poor weapons and less capabilities as other forces. With that being said, did Japan really think that German soldiers were supperior to thier own so much that they bought into the idea that if Germany "kicked down the door the whole rotten structure would collapse"?

Hard to swallow.

So why was bombing Pearl Harbor believed to be a good idea by Japan and Germany if they knew?

You people sit back and do nothing while Bush and Cheney tear it to shreds. What's up with that?

2007-06-27 11:14:24 · 22 answers · asked by Anonymous in Military

Cheney is trying to get out of an executive order by claiming he isn't part of the executive branch.
"Dick Cheney... is asserting that his office is not actually part of the executive branch."
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2007/06/22/cheney_asserts_hes_part_of_the_legislative_branch/

5 years ago, the opposite was claimed.
"the Administration claimed executive privilege in substance while blocking disclosure of what was discussed during meetings of Vice President Dick Cheney's taskforce on energy"
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1601450,00.html

Is there anyone who is in support of this? Who thinks the Cheney should be able to choose which side he is on depending on the situation?

I have recently come across some webloggers who support Iran's government and president and I got into lots of discussions about politics with them. Being an ex-patriot, and living in the U.S., they started comparing and asking me lots of questions about the United States. I refrained from answering those types of questions because I don't know much about U.S. politics myself. But I suggested to them that they create a weblog called "Iran-US dialog" or something like that. They were very receptive and have already created the weblog. Now all we need are some Americans who are willing to discuss politics with them. My thoughts are that they have pre-concieved notions of America and so do many Americans about Iran.
Most of their weblogs are in Persian but I am going to ask them to write in English so we can get some dialogs going.
In any case if you are interested in participating in this discussion, let me know.

1/3 of Americans actually believe that our own government had a hand in the 911 attacks. So why then is it so hard for many of you to see that liberals want to raise taxes on working Americans in order to provide poor minorities with additional benefits in an attempt to keep them 100% dependent on the government in attempt to buy their votes and remain in power?

Has anyone considered that there might be another group (with a completely different agenda, on the road to the White House) benefitting from those two being spotlighted?
Whatever we might hope for progressively- for our country, fact is there are enough backward-thinking voters who intend to have their say in '08, that could keep them out of office.
Or maybe I'm wrong, maybe there are enough registered and acting voters of the demographics who would vote for them.
Or maybe I've sniffed something that will send the Republicians laughing right back into the White House...
well?

Hoping to get good answers despite my subtlities and vagueness, if must have more detail, ask.

Let's be civil please and thank you.
