homophobia is immoral, and whoever is homophobic is immoral, if the army are homophobes, then yes, they are immoral, but thats no surprise, seeing as they kill people too...

how is a phobia immoral... hatred ok that is immoral depending on your system of morals... but just being afraid of gay people is fine as long as you don't harm them or discriminate against them... which would be hard if you were afraid of them I guess... but some people just don't like the thought of someone of the same sex pursuing it scares some people because it gross and others because they are afraid they might like it and don't won't those feelings to come out... but its not immoral... it isn't so much like racism and prejudice in my opinion. and the army has reason to be homophobic, its one of the same reasons women still aren't allowed in combat roles, people in a relationship would distract each other from the mission they set out to accomplish and it could also cause uneeded drama with people dating or that used to date on the same lines... so when they start making men shower with openly gay men it boot camp becomes more like prison... don't drop the soap!
but back to your question of logic... if homophobia is immoral and most soldiers are homophobes does that make the army immoral.... so the army would be immoral if most soldiers were homphobes, if homophobia was immoral...
since homophobia isn't immoral and most soldiers aren't homophobes the army isn't immoral... wait the logic is all messed up your question makes no since therefore it cannot be answered even after I slept through a semester of basic reasoning

I don't see how "homophobia is immoral"... the major religions sure don't support homosexuality.
And I don't see any justification for your claim that "most soldiers are homophobes"... Nor do you claim what nation you're from you twit, so I can't determine which you consider "our army".
I served for 15 years and had no problems with homosexuals... we didn't allow them IN, but I have no problem.

Being a homophobes and being in the military is not in the same boat of ethics... There are many homosexuals serving in the military at this moment. Some even in places of command. To place a homophobic person in that situation is like lighting a match in a room full of gun powder. The military has a rule that if you do not overtly act out, the military cant ask your orientation... But it also has a law against Homo sexuality, along with adultery, rape, murder, disobedience of a lawfull order, and other interesting vices the military thinks are against good order and discipline.
As for most soldiers...How many have you met? and how many of them told you in person they Are or Are not Homosexual?
Most have enough trouble being heterosexual and not getting themselves in trouble with the politically correct crowd... My point is it doesn't matter if they are interested in the opposite or same sex as long as they can do their job to the best of their abilities. I don't care if a woman is a lesbian or straight or if a man is Gay or straight as long as when we are in the field together they cover my back as I will theirs! That is the only mission that matters... We all want to go home in one piece and see our loved ones again...

Strawman Argument!!!
Homophobia is not immoral either. A person maynot like or hate the homosexual act, but not homosexual people!
No, that does NOT make the US Army immoral.

Ther is no such thing as "homophobia". The word "homo" refers to mankind and "phobia" is fear or hatred. So the word actually means fear of mankind or hatred of mankind. It should be "homosexualphobia" - which is still ridiculous.
It is not immoral to fear or hate. These are natual human emotions. We all have them. What proof do you have that our soldiers or military fear or hate homosexuals? Of course, you have none. It is just your opinion. You are using misinformation and emotionalism to try and direct fear and hate at our soldiers and the military in general.
I know many people who are homosexuals. Some of them are great people who don't go around advertising the fact that they aren't heterosexual. Others, who are constantly flaunting their sexual preferance towards the same sex, are the most narrow-minded, intollerant bigots I have ever met. It's a pity.

how many soliders do you know? do you know all of them? i think not!!!
its just dont ask dont tell no one really needs to know someones sexual orentation when they have to work with a person. i dont know about you but i do not like it when someones personal sexuality is rubbed in my face its like saying why is it that a straight person gets crap for not liking a homosexual person they get called a homophobe. but if a gay person doesnt like a straight person nothing is done open up your mind a little bit i dont care what a person is just as long as its not rubbed in my face!!! because i feel thats a personal preferance that i dont need to know about and should be kept private.
according to the ucmj a solider in uniform is not to display public affection of anykind even if they are married its a work prefreance you wouldnt make out with your significant other while infront of your boss would you that person can be whatever they want but not while they are at work. a solider doesnt live in that uniform it may be there job and a big part of there life but the solider wears the unform not the uniform wears the solider.
everyone is created equal right the military wants to keep it that way because it is wrong to discrimiate a person based on sexuality hense the dont ask dont tell rule. however if a person decides to announce there private sexuality to there boss then that opens the door to discrimation.

How do you know most Soldiers are Homophobes? The last I read most soldiers don't really care as long as that soldier does his job. It's higher up in the ranks were you hear all of the homophobes...

This question is obviously from a civilian too scared to go and see what the military is about. You have no allegiance to anyone but yourself, and so to make yourself feel better, you go on Y!A to see what reaction you can stir up.
Get a grip on reality and grow up.
