Of course they're people. But what they're doing is illegal, according to our laws. Those people are criminals. We have restrictions on how many immigrants can come in for a reason! How many people do you think our country can support? Mexico's whole population?

If the immigrants are such hardworking amazing people, why don't they fix their own country? I know they make more money here, but we can't support a whole other country!

I m a little confused on the comments here. If the children are crossing the border daily then they have a type of permit to be(or at least cross legally) in the U.S. That would mean they are not illegally entering, right? So the illegal action being done is that the child is attending public American education, not the crossing of the border. The border towns need to do something to better help these school systems, and reform our education system in a way that benefits America. As a person with conservative views, I think laws can be established without the full watch of the federal government. As a Christian this is just a sad situation innocent children are caught in. I have heard of friends from Montana saying Canadians claim residency status in the U.S. in order to attend our Universities, but they live in Canada. This is a situation that needs more attention and one that is of great importance.

My question is: why is it so necessary for so many to come into this country? If the answer is that it's because of the economic hardship in Mexico then why don't the Mexican government work on the problem? Mexico is not exactly a third-world country. The government is corrupt and Mexico has an immense class divide. Maybe they should fix that.

Why must the illegal immigrants invade my country and even more so, consider it their entitlement? It's not up to us to bear the burden of their country's failings. Why do the illegals feel like it's our responsibility?

It's not their country, it's America! They can come here if they wish, through legal means, but they choose not to. And who's country are you talking about that wouldn't be anything without the Mexicans? Certainly the USA has survived generations without help from illegal Mexicans. Do you realize how difficult it is for someone from the USA to go to Mexico to live and work? They abide by their laws and so should America.

It already IS legal for Mexicans to cross the border and live here. It's called LEGAL immigration. There's also already tons of LEGAL GUEST WORKER programs as well. Problem is...nobody wants to play by the rules.....they want to roam like locusts just taking the goods and leaving destruction behind. I hope to God I'm 6 ft. under when it's a free roaming pass because this country wouldn't be worth living in under those circumstances.

you must be one of the ignorant, un-educated illegals. It will be legal for people from Mexico, to sneak across our border, as soon as The liberals in congress, and the senate, vote to make Mexico our 51st state.

it is legal, if they have their paper work, people from the U.S can just ride a boat over to europe, and just get off and start living there without having paper works and eligibility,
its all equal, people think mexico has it harder, only becuase more poor people try to sneak into the U.S and then get caught

it is as long as they do it the right way by getting a visa. Why can't you understand the difference between illegal and legal immigration.

It's legal now. All they have to do is fill out all the necessary papers. Just like other legal aliens have to do.
