Cheney is trying to get out of an executive order by claiming he isn't part of the executive branch.
"Dick Cheney... is asserting that his office is not actually part of the executive branch."
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2007/06/22/cheney_asserts_hes_part_of_the_legislative_branch/

5 years ago, the opposite was claimed.
"the Administration claimed executive privilege in substance while blocking disclosure of what was discussed during meetings of Vice President Dick Cheney's taskforce on energy"
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1601450,00.html

Is there anyone who is in support of this? Who thinks the Cheney should be able to choose which side he is on depending on the situation?

I guess nobody is supposed to know that the vice president is president of the senate and in that respect is part of the legislative branch. " The Administration claimed executive privilege in substance" I guess nobody is supposed to know that the vice president reports to the president who has the final say as to what is protected by executive privilege, and what is not. Just another lib/dem taxpayer money waste of time and office, and duty, to the citizenry they claim to be speaking for, instead of actualy doing anything for the "little guy" they love to bragg about.

I answered a question like this last week. Cheney is both in and outside of the Executive Branch.

Constitutionally he has virtually no real office other than as official President of the Senate, and sits as a permanent member of the National Security Council per Congressional statute.

Otherwise, as stated a long time ago, the office of the Vice President , "Isn't worth a warm bucket of piss".

Cheney is a royal SOB and shouldn't be our Vice President. The president (who can't write his own name) agreed with his Vice President. This has to be the most corrupt government that the USA has ever had...including the years with Nixon.

Since the founding fathers would never allow such a loophole, he is, in fact, subject to the rules of the Senate in his capacity there, as well as the Executive branch in his capacity as VP.
This administration excels at combing the laws and Constitution for loopholes, which you expect of criminals.

cheney is toast.

don't be shocked by anything that follows and i mean anything.

when wresting power from an insane person, you have to really expect the unexpected.

the real question is who on cheney's staff will crack and request immunity.

who will the john dean of this age be - they will be a great hero...

I am just wondering how far our current government is going to allow him to go. What happened to our checks and balances? When is somebody going to stand up to Cheney? Why is he above the law? WHAT IS GOING ON?

He and his staff are opportunists who will use any legal technicality to advance their own personal agendas.

we should cut off his funding on all sides then, change the locks on his office even, since he doesn't seem to be accountable to anyone
