I can't think of any reasonably articulate adult that would doubt such things as 'black' ops, spying, manipulating world situations through assassination plots, drug activity, weapons trafficking to gorilla forces etc. I'm not convinced though that declassifying the particulars of some of these operations that occurred 30 - 50 years ago are in the best interest of this country. Sometimes, when someone tells you they could tell you what they done in the war, but then they'd have to kill you, they're telling the truth. No the American People are not entitled to full access to all information all the time. There are too many people in the USA that shouldn't be here that would use that intelligence to attempt to overthrow the government of the US. You can pretty much bet Venezuela President Chavez will use any dirty laundry we release to rally support for his sworn commitment to overthrow the government of the United States. Documents are classified as SECRET or TOP SECRET are usually done to protect the long range interest of the US and not just the conduct of an isolated operation.
