As long as business wants cheap labor, and as long as the Republicans are the party of big business... won't the Republicans remain the champion of illegal immigrants?

Who's bill would that be, Ken? Isn't the leadership in this Republican government 'for' illegals?

Yes, and yes all the way from 1986 and Ronald Reagan's Amnesty Bill that is already on the legislature books. Bush is just refreshing the same legislature. Here check out all the information in this blog video. Source: http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-jBGnink9fqndrcAimaoWcwkxcO_m?p=71
Watch the video and Bush's pre-election speeches to the Mexicans. I know you aren't a Canadian and are a Republican from way over a year ago, so why have all the charades here on the politics page....

The question makes no sense, really. The republicans are opposed to giving amnesty to 12 million illegal immigrants that are currently on our soil. They think the 12 million should go back home and apply and wait in line, like the rest of the world. The democrats want them all to be allowed to stay, because they assume they will be 12 million more voters for their party.

Yep...Thats why 39 Republican Senators voted to STOP the "Amnesty Bill", and 39 Democrat Senators voted FOR the "Amnesty Bill"...Shouldn't the Democrats be the one you should be angry at?
So either you haven't been following this at all, or you just do not understand that the Democrats are trying to give Amnesty (Get Votes), and the Republicans don't.
But hey, all I looked at was the Senate votes. What fact based source did your information come from???

Absolutely, ignoring the mental and physical wellbeing of our nation's children has made it impossible for them to push a lawnmower or concentrate long enough to mow an entire lawn. They need the illegals badly.

Just like the Democratic party, yes!

I'm glad some people realize this. They have different reasons to want unchecked immigration, but both parties consistently and systematically fail to enforce immigration law.

Republicans have a little problem with it in that more of thier 'base' is anti-immigration (often legal or otherwise) than with Dems, so they have to pay more lip service to opposing it, even as they engineer it.

Champions of illegal immigrants? LMFAO! Get real. Democrats are just pisssed off that they didn't think of all this first! Because who ever leads the charge to legalize the estimated 20 million illegal aliens in this country is sure to win the votes of those additional 20 million potential voters!

Try to be fair: the Democrats are suporting the bill as enthusiastically as the Republicans.

Why? Because you have no option. You are an Anglo island in an Hispanic sea.

Who signed NAFTA and forced most of the Mexicans out of their jobs, sending them across our borders looking for work?

Answer that one. Also, who are the ones who are battling this immigration bill the loudest? I don't hear any Dems shouting off of the roof tops to stop it.
