I have always wondered if a third party candidate won the popular vote of any particular state, would they be able to receive the electoral votes for that state? And if not, is the electoral votes just reserved for a Democrat or Republican candidate?

When ever I watch politcal coverage on national news or online, they always rate a candidates chances of winning by how much money they have raised. Now, with the extremely vast audience the Internet has, a candidate can reach out to scores of millions from just one interview or rally. So is being the highest grossing candidate really all that important anymore?

We'll scrap the current list of candidates and entertain the world with classic 70's sitcom hijinks! But which pair will be the 'crats and which the 'publickins?

Not just a one-quote response.
Example:
"I think if you say you're going to do something, and then don't do it, that's trustworthiness."
I want real ones, not fakes.
P.S. Bush isn't SO bad, just a sinfully awful public speaker.

SPC Eli Israel:

“I have told them that I will no longer play a ‘combat role’ in this conflict or ‘protect corporate representatives,’ and they have taken this as ‘violating a direct order.’ I may be in jail or worse in the next 24 hours.

Isn't this our right as a democracy to tell the government when they are wrong and to act when they don't comply? Would a petition be needed.

Lets overthrow the government and start from scratch.

I was just wondering if a cop could pull me over for blaring my music with extreme bass when my windows are down in my car? I am always kinda nervous about it so when I see a cop I turn it down especially at night. Is it against the law, like disturbing the peace or something?

Members of the United State Senate,

I am one of the millions of Americans who believes our first priority as a nation should be to secure our borders by enforcing existing laws. Amnesty is not the solution.

I urge you to vote against the immigration reform bill currently being considered in the Senate and to oppose any future effort that undermines our national security or grants amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants.

We were stronger...we were more civilized...we were more educated...we fought with the more sophisticated weapons...we prevailed over the Natives so we deserve to be here. We won that right. Right? Those who tire of hearing of what our ancestors did to the Natives because it was "so long ago" (a few hundred years) are quick to point out that the Natives had also conquered peoples to live here (thousands of years ago.) So why is everyone so up in arms about the Hispanics coming? Maybe it's their turn to be here. Despite our greatest man-made laws, walls or border patrol the Hispanics keep coming. It won't matter what we do because God remembers what we did. We need to learn to accept the new immigrants & live in peace just as the Natives had to do with us. Those Natives who chose not to do so DIED for that decision. If you want things to change, change yourself. Change your heart. We claim "survival of the fittest" as our right to be here. Maybe we aren't the fittest anymore.

I was just thinking the other night about possible ways to change the way our tax system is set up. I'm not a master on the topic, so im not really aware of any of the problems that may arise with the situation.

Say you pay 10,000 a year in taxes.

What if the government sent you back a form saying

5,000 is for to the general crap

5,000 is for

A.XXX
B. XXX
C.XXX
D.XXX

Can choose more than one and how much you would like to go to each sector.

Is this a ridiculous idea?

It is taking away the peoples right to speak freely. If they pass something like this, they will do it in other areas of media including the interet.

I'm sorry, but this is about ratings and nothing more. There are bitter people that are using their powers in a way that is convient for "them". Not for the public. We need to be VERY careful what powers we allow the goverment to enforce on our basic rights, because once it begins, it never ends,

EVEN if I like some of the issues that certain people stand for, I will not vote for ANYONE who backs this proposed bill.

My brother in law broke my husbands jaw by blind siding him with a punch . He ran away before my husband could get to him. The sheriffs office nor the county attorneys office won't give us a warrant or anything because they are brothers. Even though the state police said it was fourth degree assault. What does anyone suggest.

If you don't want to learn english, fine, but then we shouldn't have to translate everything into other languages for them if they don't want to take the time to learn the national language for the country that they reside in. It is completely IGNORANT to believe that if I were to move to another country that I should EXPECT them to teach me, to have driving test, as well as anything else in MY homeland language. This is crazy, what the heck is wrong with people. You don't go to another country and expect them to cater to you, just boggles my mind?
