A debt collector wants to sue me for a bill I owe but I am unemployed. She says she will garnish my husbands wages, and that we are not having a hardship because we own a house, it's considered an asset (we bought it after we where married but my name is not on it). How can she have the nerve to say we are not in a hardship. Can she legally garnish my husbands wages?

I just dont understand why some parents encourage their kids to join the military, knowing they'll probabily die.

Is it because they love their country more than their kids?
Is it because they want to save money during the holidays with one less person to buy a gift for?
Is it because they are so ashamed at their kids that they'd just rather have them die, instead of finding a real job?

Because this is what I'm seeing in this country. Far too many people want to blame the oil companies and say that they are to blame for the supply but come on, let's face it, we don't have enough refineries in this country to satiate the population. We import gas, people! Then we have to refine that, because it isn't refined enough for us. Companies are not in business to supply your need to help the consumer. They want to make momey. To keep in business, to employ people, to offer the consumer the best product they can produce at the best price possible. The consumer, on the other hand, wants to but the product at the lowest price. They can go somewhere else or lower their demand if the price it too high. Not that hard to figure out.

I have lived in the city of Toronto for 7 yrs now I have never heard anyone called a dergoatory racial name - except by people who are clearly mentally unstable Everyone has health care There are free shelters for the homeless healthcare included pschiatric care as well
I have never seen anyone denied a job or a promotyion based
on sexual orientation religion colour or political opinion
I have never seen a hand gun (although hand gun crimes do happen) - But not once have I seen a pistol a rifle or anything of the sort - When I go out at night to walk the dog - I expect to be just fine When I walk through a "black" nieghbourhood I do not need any protection and I do not need to worry - There are no area's of this city that police do not or can not walk around in Black Asian and other officers are visably seen and or recruited Gay and lesbians are sought out to join the police forceLaw order and are established the Charter of freedoms and rights is respected
Can you say the same?

I live between 2 Airforce bases, and I have seen at least 2 military planes flying together each day. Today, however, there are military helicopters flying overhead. I have seen 5 so far, is it the same as the planes (just traveling between bases)? Or is something wrong?

97% cannot point out where Kabul is, 85% of people do not know who Muqtada Al Sadr is. How is our society so disconnected from war. Do you think people in WWII were this clueless about our enemies? I do not think people in 1942 were unable to point out where Tokyo is or who Hideki Tojo was.

That pro torture thing was all a ruse to make people think he was tough.

One day , the father of a very wealthy family took his son to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people lived . They spent 3 days on the farm of some poor people . On their way home , dad asked his son " How was the trip" ? "It was great" said his son . 'Did you see how poor people live" ? " Yes" said the boy . So the father asked what his son had learned and the boy replied " I saw that we have 1 dog and they had 4 . We have a pool that reaches to the end of our garden , and they have a creek that goes on forever . We have imported lanterns and they have the stars . We have a small plot to live on and they have fields that go beyond sight . We buy our food but they grow theirs . We have fences to protect us and they have friends and neighbors .
The father was speechless !!
Then his son added " Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are " !

Yes , urban life is different , but that doesn't mean there aren't any opportunities .

What Do You Think ?

Do all you conservative stubborn Republicans still support Bush. With his approval ratings down to 26%, lower than Jimmy Carter ever got, making him the least popular president since Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal. With 19 more months left in office, it is likely that Bush will continue to drop, perhaps under 20% if we are lucky.

With these ratings, it looks unlikely that Americans will be tempted to elect another Republican candidate in 2008, as the Bush administration is completely trashing their party. Do you Republicans still think Bush is doing a fine job running the country?
