I would maintain that nothing has changed. They simply lie in a different way. If you think Vietnam was some shining example of true Journalism look at the slant. With Jane Fonda. There was never ever simply a report that showed who died where the causualties occurred and an independent cause of death. Let the viewers interpret the data. Instead every word is a spin....
insurgent, terrorist .....
there are so many synonyms for everything..
In previous times all that happened was data didnt get reported. How can a Union in the Civil war times that went to war to free african natives (at least thats how the spin is provided) completely ignore the destruction that occurred in the indian wars. Spin is the same now and forever.

Jib Jab makes a good point. I have to sit through (on average) 40 minutes of glop before I get the 20 minutes of real stories I was looking for.

It looks to me like Jib Jab is trying to be entertaining on their web site. People from all walks of life watch the news, listen to the news, read the news. And from this you can conclude everyone is dopey? I don't think so.

Great link, thanks.

You can't entirely blame the viewers. The people who work for the media have to accept the lion's share of the responsibility as far as I'm concerned.

America's Corporate Media is doing more damage to our country than any political party or politician or foreign power or extremist group.
