I was just wondering if a cop could pull me over for blaring my music with extreme bass when my windows are down in my car? I am always kinda nervous about it so when I see a cop I turn it down especially at night. Is it against the law, like disturbing the peace or something?

it differs from place to place. like in some places in alabama if a cop can hear ur music like 50 ft i think from ur car they can give u a ticket. but here in atlanta its not an issue so u might want to check with the police on the noise ordinance of ur town

Yes it is against the law in most, nearly every state, city etc. It would come under the heading of disturbing the peace and/or nuisance.
Unfortunately it is too seldom enforced. You have the right to get nervous, which tells me you KNOW it is disturbing the peace etc. Otherwise and the reason you have not been caught is because you turn yours down.
I believe they have places, contest where the boomers meet at a out of the way place and try to outdo each other.

It's a noise violation. For your information, you're not really hearing the bass, you're feeling the vibration. You should have severe hearing problems by the time your thirty.
When you get a chance, grab a screwdriver, and a socket set, and start tightening up everything on your car that your bass is loosening up.

Of course, its disturbing the peace and no one wants to hear your loud music blaring from your radio. Turn it down or pay up.

It is disturbing the peace and you can be pulled over and ticketed.

Each state, county or town has it's own laws concerning music in cars.

Where I live, the music must be low enough that it cannot be heard 10 feet away from the car.

You people who blast your music are only seeking attention. You have no self-esteem and you want everybody to notice you....

Yes, depending on how loud and the laws in your state you could get a really big ticket and in my state, if you get 2 tickets too close together, they can remove your speakers. By the way, time of day or night does not matter.

In CA if you can hear the music from more than 50 ft away and you are on a public road, you can be ticketed. Parked in a parking lot you're safe

It is in many places, with a hefty fine. It may not be against the law where you live, but it is very disrespectful. I certainly don't appreciate someone blasting their stereo while driving past my home and waking everyone in the house.

Yes, in most places. Typically it's a violation of a noise ordinance or classified as a public disturbance.

It is against the law at all times here. If I can hear your music clearly from several blocks away, it is far too loud and I will pull you over for it.
