I hear a lot of Y!A libs say 'Stop ranting and raving and find a solution!' Which is correct. I do want to find a solution.

But what? How can you possibly help someone that doesn't want to be helped?

Talk with them? Plead with them? Sure, these kids who are born to these lazy moochers are not at fault and should not be penalized for their parents mistakes. But where do we draw the line?

It is one thing when you have one kid that you are struggling to take care of, but what about when they keep having them one after another?

Forcing them to get sterilized violates their human rights....

Telling them to get a job and go to school is fine and dandy! But what if they don't want to do neither? THEN WHAT??

Fifteen years (1989 - 2004) I have spent living in the inner city. I saw them folks around doing nothing with brand new Jordans on their feet while their rent is only $15 thanks to section 8.

Does this not anger you?

Last night was the last time I'm letting him get away with it. What will the police do? I only have one fist sized bruise from where he punched me. Otherwise, I'm fine. He was picking me up and throwing me into the walls as well as punching but all I have is the one bruise. The other blows didn't leave marks. Hes hurt me worse but I never told anyone about it. Will the police even do anything? What will happen to him if they do? What will the police have me do?

he has been arrested before for beating me and for unlawful restraint. That wasn't my doing though, someone who was driving by saw what he was doing and called the police. Also, what is the best way to approach the police about this? Should I call them or go to the station? Will they make me strip and take pictures of all the marks...?

On a somewhat related question, are there Supreme Court decisions for which you agree with the Court's reasoning and result, even though you wish the law as written were different? Or are there cases you disagree with the Court getting involved with, although if you could write the laws (as well as interpret them) you would "come out" the same place they did?

I'm thinking about abortion and other issues we've discussed. This question may be hard to follow. But give it a shot. thanks!

New NBC poll shows congress at 23% approval rating. 6% points less than Bush. Perhaps the Republican's passing in 2006 will enable them to get an ever bigger majority in 08. By then everyone will know how inept the democrats are at goernment.

Maybe we should encourage people to walk across the border from Mexico. After a while there would be such a flood of immigrants that many wouldn't be able to find work anywhere. If, as they say, they do the jobs that Americans don't want to do, let's let them do them. Let's go down ourselves and bring them back. What it would do is to drive down THEIR wages and consumer costs. Eventually, because the pickin's in the U.S. weren't as good as they now are, they'd quit coming and many already here would go home.

Lets admit it. Our involvement in Iraq is about oil and our national interest as it relates to oil. We have done the same thing countless times elsewhere as well. I am American and I love my country. The problem is that SO MANY other countries just hate us today, for whatever reason. It just seems to me that when the general concencus says you are wrong, you are likely wrong. My impression is that we stick our noses in other peoples business with a "forked tongue".

this is only a small portion of the story...! does anyone know why one bounced check (90$) results in a visit to the sherriff's to be patted down, finger printed, (smthing about criminal investigation) and thrown in front of a judge only to be slapped with a $400+ fine, (or jail time!)..plus your name in the local newspaper announcing to all your crime........this is not right. pls help this poor mom in iowa. she is a solid member of the community, belongs to the local church there, works at a daycare center, is held in high regard by all who know her, and whose only real crime here is a miscalculation while balancing her checkbook.. this all occured the very day she was notified the check was NSF.

I found while looking at immigration that Its a business and Is larger then many other practices of law .
1 - 10 of about 11,300,000 for Immigration lawyers - 0.27 sec.
1 - 10 of about 3,180,000 for Dui lawyers - 0.62 sec.
1 - 10 of about 7,870,000 for drug attorneys - 0.36 sec.
1 - 10 of about 1,910,000 for check fraud attorneys - 0.45 sec.
Immigration is a thriving business and from what I have read extremely complicated involving the services of a professional .
What would the Lawyers/attorney's who write the laws do for work if we uncomplicated the immigration laws .
SO the path to freedom is nothing more then dozens of complicated legal hopes that must be negotiated properly to become a citizen .

Why not make it simple and do as they do with drug dealers where you forfeit your home ,cars, bank accounts ,boats, land if you knowingly employ or rent to illegals . Then make it a crime to use false Identification which results in the removal of the entire family from U.S soil

they really mean raise the income tax? They never actually tax the wealthy. That would mean a tax on assets of some threshold. Shouldn't they say we want to finance this by tax increases on the high achievers?

Instead of the criminals getting paid for being in jail they should have to make sacrifices and do their duties for free!! So we in Society ( non-criminals and tax payers) can have all of our Health Care for free!! paid by the government. Wouldn't that be a nice change???

This old English colony of ours still has a leftover yen for dynasty--witness the two Bushes even while so many voters held their noses in the booth. Witness the two Adams and Roosevelt presidencies of the past. But we're not English and the urge has its limits. We only went for three Bush terms and regretted it at that. When Franklin Roosevelt had three and a half terms we made it illegal for one president to have more than two.

Hillary has a good shot because so many stupid hard right conservatives will go for the less electable Fred Thompson over Guiliani. But if Hillary Clinton is elected, no matter what happens, I can see people being exhausted if faced with four "Clinton" terms. Do you agree that it would flip over the one and two Bush scenario to a two and one?
