Excellent question, but we know we're not (nor are we being permitted to do so)...
Heck, we almost didn't see the illegal immigration bill--and in spite of the HUGE negative response they've gotten, we're being dismissed as a bunch of racists and they're still trying to get it passed!
Lesson learned, though! We need to pay attention to everything our government is doing! Current trends indicate that even our Commander in Chief is not acting in the best interests of the country.
The notion of "Trust but verify" is no longer enough--we need to know what's going on!!
And my question is, if what they're doing isn't A) dealing with national security, or B) privacy act information, then why all the secrecy?
A government by and for the people should operate with near transparency....
That is, unless they're trying to hide something. Hmm?

The attack on Iraq overrides everything, we joined in on a pack of lies by Blair. I knew the 45 minute scam was rubbish as soon as I saw it and the weapons inspector Hans Blix was horrified that the USA and UK would not obey international opinion on this illegal attack.
I am one who is convinced the attack was to protect Israel,if interested in why over 700,000 Iraqis were killed see the link

Big brother is happening! "Georgie" and his bunch of puppet masters are constantly perverting our constitution, stealing our civil liberties and destroying our reputation world wide.
But other than that.... They're fine.
The truth is beginning to come out as subpoenas and investigations are pursued by a Congress which has finally begun to stand up to these monsters!!

Nope, the government is going to screw us any way they can. As long as they make their big bucks so they can live in their big mansions and drive their fancy cars, they don't give a damn about any of us. Democrat or Republican, they are all the same. Pisses me off to no end.

Great question. I would guess that unless you are in the "in" crowd you don't know.
Patrick Henry, the "give me liberty or give me death" man said, “The liberties of a people never were, nor ever will be, secure, when the transactions of their rulers may be concealed from them." I think he was right, and we are right to be worried.

We need to do what is important first. We are being invaded and you worry about taxes. That's one of the two things we can be sure of. Peace :)

12 million illegals in our country is a major problem and deserves full attention. OUR AMERICAN way of life is at stake.
Besides...Washington can't walk and chew gum at the same time. If you know what I mean.
