The current immigration bill, without this amendment, makes those convicted of rape, assault, terrorism, and theft potentially eligible for legalization. We have enough trouble policing our own citizenry. Legalizing convicted felons, who have already shown disdain for our justice system, simply exacerbates the problem.

The Senate, this evening, voted down Senator Cornyn's amendment.

more and more firefighters are wearing flip flops to calls. i'm not sure if this is safe or against the law to be driving fire dept. vehicles and to be on calls where you might get bodily fluids on your toe's, we have to where medical gloves for our hands, don't we need to protect our feet as well.

I know that I am just as dissappointed in the Democrat leaders who conduct themselves inappropriately!

The thing is thought i wasnt liable after a certain time after the accident. i was told the cut off date was sept of 2005 for no liability for his costs unless he sues before then. hence me being able to get my license, in which i did april of 2006.

You either love him or hate him but at least he is standing up to do something. Is music the universal language? How much of an influence does his music have on bringing world leaders together for a cause?

So if your in jail for two days, and you're not having a good time (for example your having some trouble sleeping, you don't like the food, and you're crying because you miss your friends), they will let you go. This may sound crazy but that seems to be what happened.

Here is what is says:
Paris Hilton is struggling after a little over two days in jail, sobbing to family members over the phone and complaining she isn't sleeping or eating. The heiress has served just over 48 hours of her 23 day sentence for violating her parole following a 2006 drink-driving arrest. But, according to Tmz.com, the 26-year-old is close to crumbling. Sources tell the site she has no appetite and is struggling to sleep in her noisy and "freezing cell" with just three small blankets and no pillow. Hilton's fellow inmates have extended her a warm welcome according to the sources, who claim other prisoners chanted "Paris! Paris! Paris!" as she passed them - as well as offering her gifts and words of support.

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration is poised to suspend a major post-9/11 security initiative to cope with increasingly angry complaints from Americans whose summer vacations are threatened by new passport rules.

I am planning on joining the Air Force Reserves right now. But, I want to go Active Duty after I get my 4 year degree (no, I don't care if I go in as an officer or not). Is it true that it's near impossible to go from Reserves to Active Duty right now? Will it still be that way after 3 and a half years? (already have 21 hours of college).

A very dear friend of mine has recently rescued 128 little girls from Thai brothels and has put every single one of them up for adoption. Some of the children were as young as 5 years old and suffered from a variety of sexually transmitted diseases and a host of other problems. Out of the 128 children, only 25 are still up for adoption. Most of them are now with loving families in the USA, Europe, Japan, and Canada. He has accomplished all of this through his own personal effort, a mere 100,000 dollars from his own pocket (that's twice his yearly job salary) and only a little bit of outside assistance (mostly information from social service groups and former ambassadors).

I want him to be recognized for his great work and his service to humankind. Problem is, this humble chap absolutely hates the idea of becoming famous. What do you think would be a good way to celebrate this outstanding individual without giving him unwanted celebrity status? I already have some ideas but need more.

if a crazy socialist terrorist-loving hippie democrat is elected in 08, will the liberals then start to become pro-american again? Will they wave American flags instead of burning them, will they talk about how awesome america is now that it is socialist again? Will they talk about how awesome the economy is 2 days after the democrat takes office? I think they will. Nothing is sacred to liberals. They will do whatever it takes to get power, and if that means risking the lives of my family by ignoring terrorist threats, or increasing taxes to pay for the votes they bought by promising tons of social programs to the poor...then that is just what they will do. Liberals care about power, their hippie ideals come a very distant second. God is about 238th on the list of things liberals care about.

HAMMOND, LOUISIANA — A Livingston Parish sheriff’s deputy was arrested Tuesday for allegedly soliciting a Hammond police detective posing as a 6 year-old girl on the Internet, authorities said.

Livingston Parish deputies and Hammond police officers arrested Wilbur Keith Crum, 48, 35111 Beaver Stream Drive, Denham Springs, at a Hammond convenience store on U.S. 190 East, authorities said Wednesday.

Crum’s conversations with the undercover detective via computer had been going on since April and were sexual in nature, Livingston Parish deputies said.

Crum arranged for the meeting location and was waiting for the supposed pre teen to arrive when he was arrested, Hammond Assistant Police Chief Kenny Corkern said.

Crum, who worked at the Livingston Police dept, is being held in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on a $ 1000 bond, Livingston Parish deputies said.

Crum was booked on a count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor. The 63 old-year deputy was suspended with pay Tuesday, said Jason Ard, spokesman for the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office. “
Since last April, Hammond police have been conducting undercover operations on the Internet looking for predators, Corkern said. Those efforts have led to 52 arrests, he said.

Ard said deputies believe Crum used a Sheriff’s Office computer because he was issued one
