I've seen several conservatives here accuse liberals of suppressing others' freedom of speech. (They especially like to cite "political correctness" as an example.) However, we're not the ones who are trying to get Harry Potter books banned from public school libraries or trying to get Darwin's theory discredited or shunted aside in the public schools, despite the fact that practically all of the scientific community (with the exception of a few kooks) bases its assumptions and work on it.

They decided that there was a monopoly and dismantled the phone company. They even went after Bill Gates. The oil companies are making billions in profits and NOTHING is being done. Please give better answer than Bush. The DEMS control Congress and they aren't doing anything either.

"And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
'Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA."

Oj, If I were running for US President in 2032 and I promised to lower gas prices by at least $1.50. And then I would get more money for schools. I would also have 250 free scholarships for colleges around the United States. Also I would hire a female vice president. And have new schools built around the United States 2!!! Would you vote for me??

Isn't "terrorism" really just a matter of perception? After all, it doesn't independently define anything quantifiable, it only describes a fear-based emotive reaction, so how can it have any meaning at all apart from that?

All harmful acts perpetrated against others create "terror" in the minds of their victims, do they not?

And yet if someone is committing a wrongful act that is not within the context of an armed conflict, then that person is simply a criminal, is he not? So isn't "terrorist" a totally superfluous description when "crime" already describes the act in question?

Shouldn't "terrorism" only be used in instances where the sole intent of the wrongful act was to induce the emotion of terror and terror alone?

Otherwise, it's all really just a matter of subjective perception, isn't it? E.g., in the American Revolution the colonists would have considered themselves "freedom fighters", while the British would have considered them terrorists, wouldn't they?

"What is the "no work list"?

Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007 (S.1348) require every employer in the United States to verify the employment eligibility of their workforce of both US citizens and immigrants through a new Electronic Employment Verification System (EEVS) operated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

This is colloquially referred to as the "no work list", as you would not be allowed to work if the EEVS deems you ineligible to work in the US."

I've just recently found out about the EEVS. All government powers are being centralized to the DHS. We are going to be a full blown Fascist country by 2009-2010. How many Americans do not know about the EEVS?

I am re-asking this questions in hopes people will understand that I am only asking a question....I am not trying to offend anyone...please read the article for yourself. Its from the white house web page. It is real. Do not get upset with me because your ignorance is so blind you would hand over your freedom for protection.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/05/20070509-12.html

Now...what do you think about this? I have read it many times over trying to understand how this could happen. It gives bush great power over america if there were ever a "national emergency". Also there is no "end time". It does not say anything about congress and the senate resuming power or nothing like that.

Americans will be the first to denounce our OWN troops and politicians for any abuses, why do more Muslims not speak out against radical Islam and the atrocites committed by terrorists?

There are ideological battles on here that are absurd.

Conservatives: Many of you drag out your opinions without substantiating them or checking your facts. Bringing your religion into a conversation is a really shitty way to make a point, as you are decreasing the objectivity and believability of your assertions. Saying your book of choice said homosexuality is unnatural or a choice does not a good argument make, and denying scientific observations that are generally accepted by the scientific community (e.g. evolution) destroys your credibility. Assert yourselves in a professional manner.

More radical liberals: Please, please, please stop the touchy-feely babbling. It does not make you look credible. Assert yourselves in a professional manner.

Those who say 'Can't we all get along?": Realize that, while bipartisanship is good, it is not always the best approach.

And LEARN TO SPELL. You do not look horribly intelligent if you misspell every other word.

If your prior attorney has your court records to a case that is unresolved and the case is going to be transfered to another state and the attorney refuses to give them to you until you have paid her in full, what can you do about this? She did not do a good job for me so I have to get another attorney.

We were recently informed by a deputy sherriff that there is a registered sex offender living in our neighborhood. Under the circumstances we were in shock due to a traumatic event, and didn't think to ask necessary details such as where exactly is this dangerous individual residing. Only now, after sleep, we understand this is an important piece of information and we should know the necessary details.....I thought this was public information, but everywhere I have looked is not answering my question. I am, believe it or not, getting road blocks when I call the police.
