As an instructor at the college level, all I can say is that they must--they certainly never seem to learn anything.
I'm serious about that. Most young people come in with their own set of values--but as they go through college, those values and opinions becaame more informed and take in a wider range of ideas. That's equally true of those who tend to be legitimately conservative as leveral.
But the extreme right-wing types come in with a rigid ideology--and learn nothing. That's equally true in technical areas. They learn by rote and rarely show any ability to think in independant and innovative ways. Which, I think, is why you very rarely see them in the sciences/technology areas except in low-level routine positions.

No different than the Clinton supporters, instead of insulting why don't you run for office and see if you can make a difference. You will learn that it is not that easy because you can not satisfy everyone no one man can and nor can you. If you think you can then I will vote for you.

Many of the answers here disgust me.
There is not one thing any liberal has done that is as treasonous as leaking a CIA operatives identity for political reasons. Which Dick Cheney and his Cronies did.
So Dissent is not only patriotic, it's necessary for the people to take their government back.

Never said it, never will. I agree with the right to well thought out dissent. But hateful rants and unfounded allegations don't qualify.

Dissent is one thing - publicly telling the enemy that we have lost the war and supporting a policy of defeat while our soldiers are on the front lines and in harms way is quite another - don't you think?

Evidently the first dingbat to answer this question has decided to use the same answer for the rest of the day for several questions as I've seen it ver batum earlier. This reflects the intellect of extreme conservatives in that it's impossible for them to progress.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

No I remember that. Do you remember his brother, Fred Jefferson, adding "until it become seditious and/or treasonous." And then Thomas adding, "Exactly?"
