It's debatable as to whether America is the most powerful nation-state in history.
At its zenith the Roman Empire arguably exercised more power over a greater per capita percentage of the world than the US does today.
One anecdotal factor in comparing the two is to look at the chronological lifespan of each empire.
The Roman Empire remained intact for the better part of almost 4 centuries, and was at its height for almost 2. America has existed as an empire for only a little over half a century, and may not be the dominant nation-state in another 50 years.
Moreover, American hegemony has borrowed heavily in terms of culture from the earlier British empire, whereas the Roman empire pretty much set a new standard for the entire world.
Imperial Rome's influence can still be seen in many parts of Europe.

Compared to our peers, we could do better in education, though we have an excellent record on reading, we are low in math, science, and social studies.
Compared to the world as a whole? We are doing fantastic in education, and continue to improve.
In terms of military might, we are the most powerful.
In terms of diversity, no one even comes close.
In terms of cultural age, we're children; young children.
Of course that frightens a lot of people. They get nervous when several hundred years of growth on their part leads to a little nation that balloons into one of the largest countries on the planet with more military might than any two of them combined. It's scary.
What makes us great is free speech, our constant drive for equality, our love of free expression, our diverse collection of cultural additions (giving us more choice than any nation on earth), and our constant self-examination.
That's why the seditious in our country can't succeed. They bring something up, we WORK ON IT! Oh, we still call sedition "sedition", but we still examine ourselves, just in case. They only make us stronger!
Our enemies, who bring up the worst about our country do the same for us, unwittingly strengthening what they want to destroy. Our country is great because we grow through self-awareness, though we resist at times, just not as much as other countries.

Because we are free.
In this wonderful nation we can make our own choices and live the lives we choose.
Those who dislike this nation are dictators, communists, criminals, and liberals. The USA does not build walls to keep our people in.
Note for a previous post, the USA is most educated country on earth, foreign students come to the USA to BE educated.

with that said, america has been around for 200 and some odd yrs and we d advanced this world more than all of europe has in 10 000. is it any wonder they loathe us?
common now, they would be still be doing bloodletting in england if it werenrt for us.we ushered in the mechanical age in about a 100 yrs of existance. thats amazing.

It's not. It may be #1 in weaponry but it's one of the lowest in education. It's also the most in debt out of all the countries. It's also not a very good country because it teaches students in their schools that America is the greatest country. It prides nationalism over individualism.

america live on debt.
america owned china in trillion dollars
america lost all jobs / manufacture over sea to china / mexico
america lost it dollar value to euro
america force to give and support state of israe 5 billions dollars every yrs. to keep them jew happy, dominate midleast region create more chaos and destructions .
immigrants in america spend less in u.s and send hundred billions dollars home each yrs.
america is no longer have all free-dom of right to bear arms and speech like before .
america media and entertainment are all control by jew / jew cabal owners.
