Should a Special Prosecutor be appointed to look into the matter of the legality of the Iraq War and our nation's responsibility for the Iraq War leading to the indictments of President Bush, Condoleezza Rice, Richard B. Cheney and others?

About 1.6 million Iraqis have died in this conflict. Is anyone sorry?

The left has promoted access to the middle class through promoting public education including higher education, home ownership through things like the GI Bill, and unionization so people could make a decent living at their jobs.

Until recently, I would have said the right's work your *** off and maybe start your own business worked about as well or complemented the other approach, but with the outsourcing of jobs, stripping workers of health care and pensions, and allowing monopolies to crush mom & pop start ups, and government subsidies and no bid contracts to some favored cronies, I'm not sure if people at the top of the GOP care about access to the middle class at all.

I know a lot of Democrats support similar economic policies to the GOP, so this is more about the ideas than parties.

Immigrants are still laboring for you and all you can do is spit in the face of your parents and those who follow them.

No assertions as to the positive or negative aspects to the act, just who controlled congress, dems or repubs? I had someone on this forum say the democratic-controlled congress passed it. To be sure, democrats voted for it, but my understanding was that democrats were not in control of congress then.

Why must the republicans in power always point to Clinton when they are accused of nefarious dealings? Just because Clinton may or may not have done something doesn't make it okay for the republicans to do it. Besides, lets be proportional about it. Clinton lied about sex and had a full scale investigation. Bush is accused of lying about a war...and nothing.

Marx wrote the Manifesto in 1848.

The lib/dem/socialists say they are progressive, that the repubs want to stay with the old, whereas they want to change, yet they still follow socialism, which is a 158 year old failed philosophy.

There is a disconnect here. Do they just lie with ease, or do they think people actually believe this progressive talk.

This is a Philosophical question only. So please no "Haters" from either side.
Can we learn anything regarding our Government and Americans in General from studying past Great Civilizations?
The "Dawn of Western Civilization" can be traced to the Greeks and then the Romans. Where Rome in Particular flourished. Much of what we see is "Hollywood". Thier culture and Medicine, Political Structure, Literacy, Art ect.Where advanced beyond anything seen truly until the early 1900's.
Though the Western Roman Empire fell around the year500, the Eastern Empire flourished for almost 1000 years after in modern day Turkey, when the Ottoman Empire took over.
What caused the fall of the West? Who were the people that moved to the Eastern Empire, knowing the West was Decaying?
Can we draw any from any of this and apply it to today?
It is said it was caused from "Internal Strife". If true, what if any conclusions, if any, apply to present day America?
And, should we learn from them?

WASHINGTON - Three U.S. soldiers slaughtered in a grisly kidnapping-murder plot south of Baghdad last June had been left alone for up to 36 hours in a poorly planned mission, a military investigation concluded. Two officers have been relieved of their commands.

..and then of course, there was the Tillman coverup...

(The US admitted that one of our fighter jets had bombed one of our own tanks, This 'friendly fire' happened as US troops were riding in a tank near a bridge entering Baghdad just hours before the invasion.
17 US troops were killed. It was admitted and we never neard anything further about it.)

If she were president? Would you be OK with her suspending due process to gather personal information from american citizens? Do you trust that she would use it wisely, and not for personal political gain? If the answer is no, would you seek to get rid of the PATRIOT act if a democrat were to take office?
