No, this is typical.
This frequently happens with criminals of all types. Most criminals never serve their full sentence.

If you are rich and have a lot of money and 'power' and by that I mean a fat checkbook you can get away with anything. I mean is it really that big of a shock she is not going to be spending 45 days in prison? In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the 23 days went down to something even less or no time at all before her sentence actually starts. Her friend Nicole Ritchie was pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the highway while doped up on weed and vicodin and she is seeing no jail time. Imagine if that was a regular person with no millions of dollars to back you up in the court of law.

She paid someone off. How many people get good behavior and never set foot in jail. When she does go she will be pampered. They don't want anyone around her cuz, they just might make her learn a lesson. She will never grow up.

its bull$h!t that a ***** like paris hilton gets her sentence cut...but typical of the american justice system to reward celebrities for "good behavior." So one time of good behavior overwrites all the previous $H!T she does. If she's soo "traumatized" of her sentence, maybe she should have made better choices with her worthless excuse of a human life. what a crappy flawed system.

I just read that and was confused at first, but:
"Her sentence was shortened after jail officials gave her credit for good behavior: Officials considered several factors in calculating the credit, including that she appeared for her latest court date." - Yahoo! News
As long as the rules are applied equally, I'm cool with it... though I think they should have doubled it for her Mother's comments.

omg that's pathetic, makes the judge look like a ***, she needs to grow up and take responsiblity for her behavior. If she didn't read the paperwork from the police before about license suspension that's her own problem and choice and not a very good one. She is getting special treatment and it's not a good example to anyone, people need to grow up and take responsility for what they do or don't do and act like adults and set examples for our kids, no wonder kids are out of control these days!

regrettably, it fairly is the sorrowful state of our penal complex and penitentiary equipment in California. did you realize there is law interior the works to spend extra for jails and prisons than for colleges and universities? unhappy yet actual. the only thank you to maintain the overcrowding down is the early launch of non-violent offenders and on occasion mildly violent offenders. It additionally sends a message to might-be criminals that in the event that they get caught, they'd purely would desire to do a million/2 the time or no time in any respect. Paris isn't getting particular therapy purely that she meets the non-violent criminal standards.

Unlike the rest of us who would have to be in jail to get good behavior credits, just the fact that she hasn't driven since being sentenced is considered good behavior for her. Special treatment? Nah! What would give you that idea?

Please people....It is called "Good Time Work Time" credit. And it is STANDARD procedure for a Cali Jail. For her offence, you or I wouldn't even get Community service, let alone Jail. Rpeat, You and I would not spend even 1 day in Jail for what she did.
The only reason she got ANY JAIL TIME was so the JUDGE could be in the paper.

The fact that you are asking the question shows that she is getting special treatment.
She should have her license jerked, do the jail time, pay the fine, and enter rehab. Also, she should eat a sandwich or a pizza.
