We overthrew Saddam and handed him to the Iraqis. We gave them a democracy, and saw them through successful elections. Why aren't we done? And remember, democracies rise out of chaos and civil wars...no amount of US involvment can change the fact that they will HAVE to fight to keep their democracy, as we have many times ourselves. I realize that they didn't ASK for a democracy, and may not be willing to sacrifice what it takes to have one, but isn't that their choice?

'Terrorists' are not an organized army, which is why you can't beat them with the military, you beat them with the police. We are now fiding out, through successful thwarted terrorist attacks, by the UK and Scotland Yard, that this is the best method for finding and eliminating terrorists. Will the Bush crowd EVER get that you cannot 'surrender' when there is no army, no clear enemy? Do they STILL think that Iraqis are going to greet us in the streets as liberators?

"There are some who, uh, feel like that, you know, the conditions are such that they can attack us there. My answer is: Bring 'em on. We got the force necessary to deal with the security situation. “ - George W. Bush, July 2, 2003.

hmmmmmmmm. Is that why we are still there almost 4 years later and sending 20,000 more troops. How long are we gonna let this idiot go on dumping money and risking soldiers lives in Iraq?

Someone said about communists: "they believe in the fact that people should get what they work for, and communism gives to the lazy, as well as the hard worker". I don't understand how this could be true. Our christians seem to think the same thing here in America today to keep what they work for and lazy people should die...that doesn't sound christian to me. In fact, that communism treats people equally, why is it bad? And why is it unchristian? Alot of Christians believe in love, compassion and equality, just as Jesus believed. How does one justify his religious beliefs as 'christian' if one believes the opposite?

How can anybody in their right mind still support this war?
On what grounds?
No WMDs.
No "nukcular" program.
No involvement with 9/11.
No involvement in any other terrorism.
Half a trillion $$ wasted.
650,000 dead.
Millions maimed displaced orphaned etc.

And for what?

All for nothing.
Even if you win (which you cannot) you win nothing.

It seems that the conservatives on Yahoo Answers use the current bullish run in the stock market as proof of Bush's sound economic policies and his success as a leader.
Now, I read this........

"The worst economic growth in four years is raising concern that troubles in the U.S. housing market will spread and throw the country into a recession before the year is out."

If we do go into a recession, what straw are you conservatives going to be able to grasp to prove Bush has been a great president?

Why don't we just move our troops to the borders of Iraq and stop others from interfering while the Sunnis and Shiites blow the sh*t out of each other? That way our guys don't get killed and Iran stays the f*ck out of there until the govt in Iraq can take care of itself.

On his watch Iran and N. Korea have developed nuclear programs and have tested intermediate range missles that can be outfitted with nuclear warheads.

Russia is just about to go back to Communism. Putin feels threatened by the proposed missle defense system in Europe, so now they will develop counter measures. In case you weren't paying attention in the 80's, we're headed back into a Cold War.

Republicans wanna play scare tactics, but how about the very real threat generated by countries with real capabilities? He's put all of us in danger by spreading our military too thin.

We're busy playing cowbow in Iraq and have been depleted to the point where we are exposed. Yay.
