Not a bad plan. However, I also wish Iraq would step up and take some responsibility for its own security. I'm tired of funding our military to be their police force. That's a DAMN EXPENSIVE police force they've got. We don't put that much money into our OWN police.

Iran has no intention of invading Iraq. Iran is very interested in what will occur in Iraq. Iran is Persian. Iraq is Arab. they mix well only when they share a common foe. --long range--if all were to go well in Iraq, in time they could develop into the predominant country in the region. this is something Iran can only dream of.

The government of Iraq is now allied with the government of Iran. We would be imposing our will on the two countries. Somehow I doubt that would be a good thing for our troops.

It is not that easy. Iran does not have to be involved; they are a patient nation and can support their side without moving troops or materials across that massive border. They can do so through Saudi Arabia, Syria of course, and even Turkey if necessary.

Lmfao...fat chance getting that one past harry reid. The liberal extremists have jumped all over this issue, making it the headliner of the 2008 fight. Liberals know full well and good this war is far from lost and even schumer said so but trust me, if cut and run gets established, iran will be in full force. I agree with you totally but the pelosi/reid regime will never let it happen.

"Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events. "

Seems reasonable to me. But I expect the law of unintended consequences will show up and screw it up.
