Yes, they do believe we are fools. They believe that is what the majority want to hear. Too many of them -both parties- do and say whatever promotes themselves. Too few really care about the country and the people. Those that do are shouted down or criticized beyond reason. AND too few people will actually study the issues and form a personal opinion. They leave it to these fools and go along with the assumption that they know more than we do.
We are being sold a bill of goods that says America is hated by every country in the world. And they are doing a good job of selling it to the rest of the world as well. But what would happen if we said OK, we will pull back into our own borders and the rest of the world can fend for themselves - is that blood curdling screams I hear in the distance??? You bet it is.
May God protect us from ourselves.
Diplomacy works when both sides are listening. Our current enemies don't listen, won't listen, will never listen. They hear destruction not words, not reason.

Actually, USA did not defeat the USR by diplomacy, they went down because they went into an arms race that they could not afford and effentually the economy collasped underneath them.
Why is Liberal such a dirty word? Bush got the USA into Iraq and into a war it could not possibly win. The White House does not understand to this day that an Iraqi first allegiance is to his family, clan, religion, and long down the list is country.
You cannot put in a democracy into a region that never has had that type of govenment. We tried installing democracy into Russia by promoting and sending millions. It has failed, just look at Putin and changes he is making and you can plainly see that.
Right now we cannot win in Iraq, the best we can hope for is a government that has a strong leader be it a dictatorship or what ever, hopefully friendly to the west.
Too many young lives have been lost, time to pull our losses and get out.

Democrats don't want to leave Iraq. OK? It is just a vote winner right now..that..is..all. If the democrats win the next election then they will not leave Iraq and the troops will not be pulled before the next election because bush will veto so forget about it it is all a ploy. It is all about playing on the emotions of the American public today when they are feeling vulnerable about the war the dems are cashing in on it. When it comes to elections people will remember back to when the dems tried to get the war stopped and in year and a bit it may just work in their favour. End of very boring story. If you sift through the shite it becomes very clear.

To compare this war to the Cold war, or to compare Reagan and Bush is a HUGE stretch. Bush could have learned much from Reagan. Like how to win a war by BANKRUPTING THE COUNTRY, instead of bankrutping our own, and using our soldiers as pawns.

WE defeated the USSR? Go back to school and pay attention. The downfall of the Soviet Union directly resulted from their 8-year war in Afghanistan. And if we stay in Iraq long enough, we can look forward to the same destiny. Pulling out of Iraq is not surrender; it's called sanity.

Why do Conservatives call brinksmanship diplomacy? Reagan commissioned lots of missles and made threats to the USSR, and that's diplomacy...? But we didn't really beat them. We outlasted them.
Anyway, let's all look up the word "diplomacy" and have a nice afternoon.

I'm not liberal. But -
Why do you call a orderly return of our troops home after 4 years surrender? Are you on the Iraqi insurgent side ...claiming victory for terrorism despite American success?
Are you saying that in 4 years we have done nothing? It sounds to me like you can't accept America's greatness. The troops coming home is not a surrender and your attempts to call it that only encourage terrorists.

Diplomacy is the peaceful means for settling things, instead of fighting. That's why they are called diplomats

Reagan sold weapons to both Iran and Iraq.
It would be hard to "surrender" to the al-Malik government since we put those Shiite Fundamentalists in power.

Actually hun, we lost it before we begun it going in under hypocritical, dishonest, unethical, and unjust lies. The bible even speaks of meddling in business that is NONE of your business. The Iraqi people did not cause 9/11. You must be the Queen of Denial. How's Egypt doing?
