My purpose for asking is that I will be petitioning my wife who lives in another country. Does my name need to be consistent in all my documents? Currently, my new legal name is on my US Passport and Drivers License. Also, it is the name I use when I file my taxes.

Since you may have to provide a copy of this document when you petition your wife, I strongly suggest that you apply for a change of name on this document. (Form N-565)

My thinking is that if the government made a form for it, they expect you to use it when applicable.

No, as long as you have the original documents supporting your legal name change you probably do not need to file for a new Certificate of Naturalization.

You don't need a new naturalization certificate. When you are petitioning for your wife submit you US passport. OR you can submit you Natz certificate with a copy of you legal name change.

Yes you should. My husband changed his name before he got his certificate.
