I know that many people who immigrate to the US each year are married and their marriages are recognized by the US government. Since same sex marriage is legal in Canada, why doesn't the US government recognize those marriages? Also, if one state allows same sex marriage, how can another state not recognize that marriage?

I have a $3000 court judgement against a couple. I have recorded the judgment in their county of residence, but I will only collect if they go to buy/sell their home or any property in that county, correct? They actively sell property on Ebay under a storefront (dba but not an LLC, PC, etc). Is there a way to garnish these wages if my judgment is against them as individuals and not as their bank account lists them under the dba?

The Government are like our mothers always seem to think that they know what is best for us, but do they really.
Our NHS is in a poor state of affairs and they bring in the notion of a "pay as you go" car tax just to use our vehicles. Maybe instead juggling this bottomless pit they have and choose to use our hard earned income on sorting financial burdens of those less fortunate. Instead they use it on pay increases for the MP's whilst most of them obviously dont get good nights sleep and fall asleep when the Prime Minister is talking in Parliment. If we fell asleep on the job most of us would probably get fired. Charity no longer belongs at home and our Government can always manage to find millions to help other countries in need of assistance but not those of this country. In spite of this I am proud to a British Citizen.

New Orleans just declared it and I was wondering why it is not used more often in regard to cities like Detroit and L.A. do you think Martial Law would be a benefit for good law abiding citizens in these cities? Would good citizens tolerate/denounce/support/rage against that strong of a police mandate?

Put All Those Americans the criminals who hire people who enter illegally in jails. After all these poor people wouldn't croos the border if they would know they can't find jobs here in the U.S should you actually want to stop Mexicans and OTMs (other than Mexicans) from coming to the United States, here is how to do it: Find an illegal worker at a large corporation. This is not difficult -- brooms and mops are big tip-offs. Then put the CEO of that corporation in prison for two or more years for violating the law against hiring illegal workers.

Got it? You can also imprison the corporate official who actually hired the illegal and, just to make sure, put some Betty Sue Billups -- housewife, preferably one with blonde hair in a flip -- in the joint for a two-year stretch for hiring a Mexican gardener. Thus Americans are reminded that the law says it is illegal to hire illegal workers and that anyone who hires one is responsible for verifying whether or not his or her papers are in

…With all of our platitudes about ‘hard work,’ ‘enterprise,’ and ‘ingenuity,’ isn’t most our wealth essentially derived from the 3rd world? When American consumers feed the corporate machine by purchasing inexpensive products from their favorite big box retail stores, aren’t these higher levels of consumption made affordable by people in Asia who make these products for comparatively substandard wages in factories that would not be able to operate in the U.S. for any number of conditions, environmental or ethical? And since these high levels of consumption are what sustain our robust economy, isn’t the amount of ‘disposable income’ of the average consumer ultimately determined by how much ‘we’ can exploit the economic disparities between countries? If corporations farm out the *true* costs of doing business to the 3rd world…then privatize the profits back here on U.S. soil, how can you call that success?

Lets face it Iraq and Saddam, were never a threat to us, but they were to Israel.
During the next fifty years we will do the same to Iran and Syria, guaranteed because they also pose a threat to Israel.

Obviously American media and government wont tell you this, including people in this very question. However masses of people in other countries already know this, but they cant do anything about it. That’s why its important to research for yourself.

Iraq was invaded 'to protect Israel' - US official By Emad Mekay
WASHINGTON - Iraq under Saddam Hussein did not pose a threat to the United States, but it did to Israel, which is one reason why Washington invaded the Arab country, according to a speech made by a member of a top-level White House intelligence group.
Inter Press Service uncovered the remarks by Philip Zelikow, who is now the executive director of the body set up to investigate the terrorist attacks on the US in September 2001 - the 9/11

My wife hurt her finger. I wanted to drive her to the hospital but the ambulance people insisted we come with them, they pretended like 'it wasn't a big deal.' They drove us to the hospital nearest to their base, much farther away than the nearest hospital (i think against a law), and then my wife realized we didn't have insurance so we left, having to take the subway home. Now they want us to pay for the 'service.'
Thanks!

Wait till more immigrants arrive in busloads because of ENVIRONMENTAL reasons.Global warming is causing a lot of inhabitants of small islands to start packing their bags and heading for U.K and U.S.You are going to be forced to take them in whether you like it or not!!!Their homes are being destroyed as a result of global warming that western countries are MAINLY responsible for.We ll see wat you have to say then.

There's been a lot of tough talk coming from our president lately. I think by fall of this year. Probably just airstrikes though and not a full scale ground invasion. But if there is some kind of ground force involved it'll probably be along the Iraq / Iran border. What do you think?

USA....AND.... the illegals were caught working in Mexico with false documents and illegally.
The illegals were using health services and education in public schools
The illegals were coming in masses across the Mexican and USA border, illegal Americans.
If these illegal Americans were living and working and marching in the street of Mexico with the US flag and the Mexican Flag up side down and shouting racist themes toward the Mexicans and demanding rights just like any other Mexican citizen.
Could you pro illegals and Mexicans, La Raza, ACLU, Mr Ted. Kennedy and gang in the US Congress, tell me what will happen.

Basically I sold a laptop, and with the funds bought another all through Paypal.

Anyway the guy I bought mine of sent it special delivery, I got it the next day, excellent service so far. Anyway I had mine all wrapped up ready to post the next weekend, The morning I was abought to post I checked to get the buyer address through my paypal account and was shocked to see it limited. I got an email from Paypal saying something along the lines of being high risk I had to verify a few things, which Include invoices from where I originally bought my items, which I simply don't have, I phoned paypal and they said I need all this documentation to get the limitation lifted.

In the mean time the money I paid to get my laptop was put on hold, and off course the seller wasn't happy, He was huffing and puffing about calling the Police on me and taking me to court etc, So I asked him if I pay you by cheque will you tell paypal this so they can release the funds, "Oh yes no problem" he said, so I sent of the cheque to him Special delivery, he got it the next day.

The guy I sold my laptop to I told him I could not complete the transaction, and I can't as theres no way of getting the limitation lifed so he filed a complaint against me and assures me if he doesn't get his money back it'll be court for me.

When the guy I paid by cheque received it he went back on his word, he is avoiding me so I have no way of getting my money back, I sent paypal an email with the tracking number which proves I paid him via cheque, there is even his signature, but paypal will not release the funds to me unless this guy gives them the go ahead, and thus I can not refund the original sender and am going to end up in court, and if I do go to court I'm damn sure I'm taking someone else with me that caused this mess.

So do I start a court action against Paypal or the seller?
