I am refering to the Strom Thurmond debacle when Trent Lott praised him but was forced to resign.

One can praise Sen. Byrd all he/she wants but it is ok.

If you do, share your story.

If you don't, tell us why. Then back it up with fact.

In 1969 I was told "If we lose Vietnam the Communist will come to the USA and kill us all". Well, We lost Vietnam on 30th April 1975 and I'm waiting for the communist to come to my town and kill me. They never did. Fast forward to 2007. We are now told if we don't win in Iraq the terrorist will come into my town and kill me. Do I have to wait another 32 years for them to come into my town?

Or can we expect them to continue to blame dems for their failed Iraq war? Can we expect them to continue to ask dems for a plan to bail their butts out? Will the GOP EVER take some responsibility for the Iraq war? PLease, just one of you...PLEASE?

I am a Chinese that live in Beijing and by looking at questions on this website I am shocked(and amused) by the lies that people are posting about China.
Base on what they are writeing, I don't think they had even been to China before making them up, here are some more common ones:

(1) China is able to manufacture products at cheap price becuse we pay our people with rice and we are using slave labor.

I live in China and I can tell you that this is not ture. The reson our products are cheap is becuase we Chinese people are hand working people and skilled workers. We are willing to work for long hour with low pay. Slave labor is in history books.

(2) Religions are outlawed in China and you will get killed if you you are religiose.

Come on, you think we are still on the 60's? In China you are free to belive anything you want!

(3) China Killed all dogs before 2008 Olympic.

This is just a demonizing attempt by people that don't like China. I own a dog in Beijing and it is fine!

To answer my own question...it's more like when not if. But for starters, I don't think American politics have anything to do with it. It doesn't matter if a democrat or republican president is in place or what our policies are, when they have the material and capability to set it off, that's when it will happen, maybe next year, maybe 20 or 30 years from now. They are set out at destroying the western way of life and spreading their form of Islam around the globe. They are determined to start their holy war. ..duhhh!

My guess is that destroying Mecca and most of Pakistan would be the only appropriate response to one of our cities being nuked. Pakistan is a breeding ground for Islamic extremists and Mecca, well it would have to go as a symbolic response to such an attack. By the way, I am a democrat, but a moderate as are most Americans. Vote on the individual, not along party lines...

Do you think the Scottish Nationalists will gain enough seats to have a majority in the next Scottish Parliament? If so, do you think they will be able to find a coalition partner with whom they can form the next Scottish Executive?

If you know nothing about Scottish politics, please don't answer.

The Democrat actions are treasonous. Their political posturing prolongs the war and the death count and their pandering to our enemies helps to embolden out enemies and undermine the war effort.

Liberals, how do YOU define treason? If the democrats aren't committing treason, than I don't know what else to call it. Liberal cowards hide behind the mantle of freedom of speech, but how much longer will we allow them to use that as a shield. Someday, they will have to be brought to justice for their treasonous actions.

Again, how do democrats define treason?

why do the nations put the global warming blame solely on america, as if america was the ONLY polluter on earth? in a couple of years china will surpass america in co2 emissions and europe is catching up as well. america will start to pollute less because of globalization. factories will shut down in america and move to other locations (this is the theory at least, not for certain). and america isnt the only one moving factories overseas. but ALL of the blame rests SOLELY on america. seems kind of communist to me. oh, and by the way, where are all those disasters that environmentalists were walking about? hardly any hurricanes for a while, less tornadoes, flooding in the south pacific happens normally, and so does drought in east africa. not too many earthquakes... if a huge comet comes and hits earth, will environmentalists say that our satellites polluted space and caused "space warming" which causes the comet molecules to go crazy and hit earth?

I do not follow politics. Of course I have issues I support, but it has to be something that is going on NOW and that the senator or rep. can actually DO something about, like vote in congress for a bill. Any ideas?

Source: Decal on his Vehicle. Son's vehicle ( We support the troops ) Dad's car..."We love Bush". So I requested his son join the Army/Marines and make President Bush happy. Father's reply...."No son of mind will join the military!! We only support the war if other young people die but my son will not die because he will not go! We are Republicans! We are proud to support but we won't serve. We're well off people. I only support the war if we don't have to serve". With that he walked away mad. A true war supporter.

I was reading a question that DAR posted about the raids, and the guy who got BA said that he thought that this was a ploy by the government, to in words, hold us over, until they sneak this amnesty bill past us. You notice no one is really putting any real emphasis on this immigration thing. And honestly I think we are fighting a losing battle. I mean there are only a handfull of "people who matter" that are doing something about this. Everyone one else is talking a big game but hardly anything is getting put into action.
