OK.
I am a conservative. I have not seen Gore's film, but I do not begrudge him his award.
I have not made up my mind on the global warming/climate change issue. I'd like to see a double feature - Gore's film, and the best rebuttal, if there is one - and then make up my own mind.

Not upset nor surprised. Don't really care about the oscars and never watch them. Al Gore is trying to do something positive even if his information seems shaky at best.
I don't buy into his theory about man-made global warming, but still try to live gently on this earth and wish everyone else would too. A good start would be to get rid of the gas guzzlers and stop enriching regimes that hate us. However, a lot of the same people who are screaming about global warming are the same people out there driving around in SUVs and giant pickup trucks. What can be done about that?
But, anyway, I am conservative so I wanted to answer this question to let you know that I just don't care about the oscar.

Can you give an example of a 'conservative' who is 'upset' by this?
Gores flick was an absolute lock to win...a leftist thesis backed by a leftist politician and voted on by a leftist community.
Upset?
Why?, It was a sure thing.
BTW, I do not know a single conservative who is not concerned about our planet, or the effects of climate change upon it.
Mr Gore flat out refuses to address any theories on this issue other than the one he embraces. He will tolerate no dissent and no debate...and you think Bush is Hitler-like?!

It the trifecta of whining for the conservatives - global warming, hollywood and Al Gore all rolled up into one story.

In their little fantasy make-believe world, there is no such thing as global warming, or climate change. So anybody who says otherwise is seen as "Liberal"--a good word, which they never bother to look up. They are frankly a waste of oxygen.

I know of no one who is acting childish about it. The left leaning media is trying to put that idea out there but only die hard leftists are buying it.
If you watched the oscars you saw that the environment was the theme of the whole show. There was no doubt in my mind it would win; the whole whole was crafted around the premise.

I am definitely not upset.
I am simply amused that his film was declared a documentary.
Documentaries are supposed to be an unbiased depiction of a issue. I didn't see Gore interviewing any dissenting scientists, did you?
The film should have been labeled either a political piece or a "Michael Moore"umentary.

Why are liberals mistaking attacks against the concept of man-made global warming for attacks against Al Gore's oscar win?
I personally dig at both, and have for months. Before you go touting the glory that is Hollywood, ask yourself how many military enlistees come from there......

I could care less. I don't put much value on anything Hollywood does, says, or endorses.

I am neither upset nor surprised. This validates everything I believe about the morally bankrupt Left and their allies in the Media and Entertainment.
I am as happy as a clam.
