I do not follow politics. Of course I have issues I support, but it has to be something that is going on NOW and that the senator or rep. can actually DO something about, like vote in congress for a bill. Any ideas?

I need to know what issues to tell them to vote for. Where can I find these?

Go to your state government website and lookunder the state legislature section. You should be able to find both the e-mail and snailmail addresses of your statesenator and representatives.

The best way to let a congress person know is to tell them in person. However, if you want to write a letter, then make it a 'real' letter, not an email. Expect that emails and postal letters will be read and responded to by 'staffers', not the Senator or Representative themselves.

Dear Senator
I am writing to express my views on the current bill . I believe that and would hope that you would this bill.

Thank you for your time,

Sincerely,

good luck

In America there are 32 million working people living in poverty. That number is the highest since 1975. My faith teaches me that "we are our brothers keeper". I believe strongly in the Bible, as the word of GOD. The Bible says " whatever you do for the least of my brethren you do for me". Jesus told us that "there but for the grace of God go I".
We will spend $598 billion on Defense in 2007. Why can't we feed and take care our children in America? The Iraq occupation will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion over 10 years. Congress approved the search for WMDs and the removal of Saddam, Congress never approved of the occupation of Iraq. We now have over 3100 dead and 200,000 wounded for this mistake in judgment by Bush. Iraq had 34,000 civilians killed in 2006 alone. 65 percent of Americans now say Iraq was a "grave mistake" from the start.

Can you be more specific? If we're gonna help, it helps to know what issue it is you are advocating.

Write to him to DEMAND that he support the troops. It's a disgrace that some anti-American senators are trying to undermine our troops in the war on terror.
