The community college I work at held a student activities council poker tournament with cash prizes.

Isn't there something illegal about this?

Normally, I wouldn't care, but I want to bring down the dean. He's a shady character, and everyone wants the guy gone.

I work at a gas station/convienence store, and we just got this new policy today saying the employees are not allowed to buy lottery tickets when we are off the clock. It is undertandable that we are not allowed to purchase scratch tickets, lotto, and the pull tabs while we are working but now we are not even able to purchase them when we are not working. Can they tell us what to do when we are not 'on the clock'? I was just wondering.

I mean realistic, because a fence along the border will never be approved, theres too much opposition for it, the UN would jump all over it like a dog on a piece of meat. I am against the wall personally, but the practical reason against it is that walls have never worked i.e. berlin wall, wall of china, etc. If it were up to me, i would give legalization to the people without anything on their criminal record ( no felonies committed) and send the gang members to their countries.

One last thing, whats with this talk of automated guns at the border?

Now i am worried that I will be discharged. My recruiter says he is doing everything he possibly can.My recruiter knew about the charge, but we did not know about the remainig community service, and my recruiter told me not to mention it at MEPS.Could I still be eligible for the Army.?

I am going into the coast guard soon and I've always wanted to full time RV. So I figured I could maybe start now instead of when I retire from the coast guard. Is this possible, I know they give you BAH. Would it cover the cost of the nightly campground rate (about 20-35 dollars a day)? And just to make sure, you retire after 20 years like the other branches correct?

Thanks for all the help!

I have a working visa and a social security. My brother co-signed for me. Credit history was not a problem but I was denied until I am able to obtain my permanent residency. Is this true? So- does this mean I have to wait for 3 years until my green card has been approved? Does this applies to all dealers? This is one of the famous Japanese cars---and best selling cars in the US.
I asked if I can buy a preowned car and payable in 3 years if they're scared of me going home after 3 years- but they still can't approve with a work visa status only...

Thanks a million

How does the military handle women and men being together in Iraq and other remote places? Are they kept seperate to keep sex down? With mixed group of people in their 20's there, I would think there would be a bit of 'stress relief' going on.

I know that military recruiters are legally allowed on high school campuses in order to persuade students to enlist, but what are antiwar groups allowed to do? Are they even allowed on campus without getting into trouble?

Nancy Pelosi said she wouldn't impeach the president. How about the vice president?
It really wouldn't be such a big deal, Bush would still be president. We've had resignations before from vice presidents and the nation kept right on going, no problems.

Who is the vice president anyway? He's just a useless bump on a log that nobody pays any attention to anyway. We all know that president Ford was the last president to die, but who was the last vice president to die? Who cares!

Remember, if we can't get Bin Laden that shouldn't stop us from getting the No. 2 man.

I live in Georgia. The company I work for gave letters to approximately 20 "lead men" stating that we are required to attend a 10 hour OSHA training class. The class will be held on a Saturday. This is in addition to our 40 work week. The letter states that the meeting is "mandatory". No mention of pay was made in the letter. When someone inquired, they were told, "The class itself is $400 per employee. The company is absorbing that. The employees should be thankful that we get to attend for free." That was from the project manager. When I asked my foreman about it, he told me, "Sometimes you have to take one on the chin." I am furious at the audacity of this. Can someone who is familiar with labor law, please inform me to the legality of this? What steps (if any) can employees take to insure we are paid? What repricussions could there be if we refused to attend, or just didn't show up? Thank you.

Is Blair withdrawing his troops out of Iraq with Bush is brining more in so Israel can do Bush’s dirty work and bomb Iranian nuclear sites and the British can be out of the south in fear of the Persian Shahab-3 landing in amongst them? Which therefore Bush keeps his word for no military action used in the sanctions that were put on Iran?
