Why don't you ask him?
But what good would that prayer do? How pathetic would god have to be if his treatment of dead Mary Jo Kopechne depended on the prayers of another person? That would be grossly unfair to Mary.

He may or he may not. Either way it is between him and his God, no one else.
All of that being said, review the case and check the facts. The smart money says that he wasn't in the car when it went off the bridge. An investagative team in an A&E / British documentary proved it as much as one can prove such a thing.

Perhaps it is the same prayer that Laura Welch Bush says each night for the boy she killed when she ran a stop sign years ago.

He may have at one time thought about saying a prayer for her but then remembered somewhere that someone wrote something about separating church and state.

1. Nothing has been proved against him. I think there is an American principle, called "innocent until proven guilty".
2. Why are you suddenly digging this up? It happened back in the 70's. Sounds like you like digging up mud? It's not as if the man were running for president.

Does Bush pray for the 3,000 U.S. troops who've died for no reason, and all the kids coming home missing legs, arms, eyes and parts of their brains? Not to mention the 600,000 murdered Iraqis... But then I guess that would require him to have a soul and a modicum of empathy.

With the condition of his brain, I'm sure he has long forgotten she even existed.

No, he prays he never gets tried for her murder, that is on nights when he's not so drunk that he can't remember his own name, much less hers...
