The government forbid the smacking of children as having no place in a modern society. They advise us that diplomacy, strong parental leadership and negotiation should suffice. The government when it has trouble with other nations tries diplomacy, strong leadership and negotiation. If this doesn't work, they send the military in to use force (smacking?) in order that things will get done there way. Am I missing something? Your comments on this will be most interesting, I hope? We think that democracy is the best form of government.Is it? Do the elected rulers truly represent the people? Do the elections really reflect the ground reality? are we not falling prey to regionalism, casteism and linguism? Do you think that a man getting one sixth of the votes in a field of seven candidates is your true representative?Is it correct to allow one individual to be the prime minister or president endlessly without a time limit, however great he is? Are not the parties engineering fragmentation of votes to get their candidates elected?
How many of the five hundred and odd members really get a chance to speak in the parliament? In any case,the parties dictate the voting pattern and kill individual freedom of the members.He has to vote as per the dictat of the party to which he belongs.Is it not a farce? Dont you think that a tacit understanding exists between the parties to not to open corruption cases where their interests are likely to be affected?

Israel have a history of breaking and ignoring almost every resolution against it and nobody has used this as grounds for sanctions or invasion. Yet when Arab countries do the same they are hit with sanctions or invaded. Why?
