I have been to Walter Reed quite a few times, I have never seen anything sub standard. Other than the parking ;)

I am afraid Walter Reed is going Thru some growing and remodeling pains. The treatment of our troops by the medical staff in all of our military facility's is top notch. However it is a growing bureaucracy. That is unfortunate.

It's not about the hospital itself. The article is about the barracks facilities for non-hospitalized patients.
My guess is it's all true. 40,000 "pork" projects in the budget and military construction gets shorted. That's been standard operating procedure with congress for the last 50 years.
