I would be willing - but since I retired for medical reasons I don't think they would be able to use me for much.

No, too old 65. Did enlist in the AF and was in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos in the 60's.
Go for the BA, join the ROTC while in college. Become an officer.

a draft is a draft is a draft. it is a government order. unless there are exceptions to the rule. true at times there are. now -- why and why not is not the time to question the law. the time to question is when the law is being passed and you have access to your government representative so you could lodge a complaint or suggest your own ideas. hope it helPS. ps. good luck to you when you want to join -- if accepted the army that wants to draft you, they have their first say and you have yours as second choice. hope it helps.

Congrats. Are you from a military family?

I would go if my number got called because I believe in America and think that we may not have everything right in our country, but we still have the best country on the planet.

People would either go, or go to jail if a draft was instated.
So its kind of a loaded question

Yes, I would go if they needed someone as old as I am (38) and in poor shape. There have been many who have died for my freedoms; if needed I will do the same.

Hell no. If I am expected to be an automaton and merely follow orders rather than use the brain I was given then I cannot survive in such an environment.

I believe in being able to question leadership and analyse issues myself then make a decision. The military has no place for people such as me.

Good luck when you join, afterall it is good pay and a good place to gain experience, but not for everyone.
