I am going into the coast guard soon and I've always wanted to full time RV. So I figured I could maybe start now instead of when I retire from the coast guard. Is this possible, I know they give you BAH. Would it cover the cost of the nightly campground rate (about 20-35 dollars a day)? And just to make sure, you retire after 20 years like the other branches correct?

Thanks for all the help!

What about 10 dollars a day?

Retirement for the USGC is 20 years. As for BAH it mainly depends on the availability o housing in your location. If they have housing available for your rank/rating then you don't receive BAH.

I doubt you would get that much BAH unless you are stationed in an area where it is extreamly expensive to live or you have dependants. I assume it is 20 years active duty but i am not sure, i'm in the navy.
