How does the military handle women and men being together in Iraq and other remote places? Are they kept seperate to keep sex down? With mixed group of people in their 20's there, I would think there would be a bit of 'stress relief' going on.

No, we are free to mix as we please. Yes we are tented in seperate tents and such, but what goes to the desert stays in the desert.

Probably not much more going on there than with any other segment of society. Facilities are separate as much as possible under the circumstances, but the people live and work together as they must. These people are in the business of killing. I don't see why anyone should sweat it if they take a break now and then to make love instead of war. There are lots more important things to be worrying about.

If you think that the troops are stricktly in the business of killing, you're severely misinformed. People have this grandoise representatvie heuristic of troops being glorious heroes. They're not. They're men and women doing their duty for their country, they're regular men and women, we screw around just as much as any college kids...on our own free time mind you. We're just like everyone else.

And to respond to thewilds01's answer, everyone knows that homosexuals aren't allowed in the military. If we knew the soldiers were gay, they'd be kicked out, otherwise it's 'don't ask, don't tell'.

Just to voice my opinion--I really believe that we need to go back to the WACS and the WAVES. We need to again acknowledge that there are differences between males and females, and those differences should be acknowledged in times of war.
