have a massive project due on march 22 in which I am creating a national school reform....

I've gone waist deep into it and I would like to know some outside opinions on what they would do, regarding absolutely anything in the public school system, such as:

diversity
taxes
busing
NCLB
homeschooling
virtual academies
vocational schools
elective emphasis
after school programs
segregation
merit consideration
a nationalized grading system
a nationalized curriculum
etc....

I'd like to hear what you have to say!

I live out in the Country and there is a horse trail riding business right a cross from me,so I can see everything.
I have just noticed that one of the mares ( who is fully pregnant) is being used as riding horse.
I think that you would have to be a total SAVAGE to ride the poor thing!
......A safe guess is that this savage who is sitting on her is at least over 150 lbs or 69kg or 10.7stone .....Very disturbing.
Does anyone know if this is common, normal stuff and not unusual?
And if this is totally unacceptable should i call the cops ???????.

I am fortunate that I live in a state where it is a felony to abuse poor innocent animals.

I don't want to make enemies with the neighbours...what should I do?

I sometimes listen to NPR and they're always running tours to Cuba. For the life of me I can't understand how left wingers, who will drive you crazy telling you how much they "value diversity" and oppose excessive government power, can stomach (much less go visit!) a gangster like Castro who tolerates diversity about as well as he tolerates rat poison. Can anyone explain this?

BTW, you Blame-America-Firsters need not "answer". Cuba is not "our fault" and we didn't "make Castro what he is" or whatever the nonsense du jour is from your crowd.

Do you remenber the campaign song?
"Things can only get better"
I can, although I was not old enough to vote in that election.
So have things got better?

I have seen the following changes

1) I was the first year to paid University Fee's
2) When I started driving petrol was around 65p a litre, now its 90p and would be over £1 if the supermarkets had not started a price war.
3) Income Tax Rises
4) National Insurance Contribution Increased
5) Road Tax increased
6) NHS waiting times increase
7) MRSA virus infecting place where we should be safe.
8) Jails overcrowded with speeders and old ladies who wont pay TV, and council taxes. Yet people who rape, murder etc get to walk free.

So have things got better?
Will labour be relected?
will Brown be anybetter
or are you waiting for the knock out punch when he gets in?

tell me your thoughts!

Woman gets two years in jail for throwing "McMissle" at car

Jessica Hall, 25, is sitting in jail for throwing a large McDonald's cup filled with ice into another car. Hall, a mother of three young children whose husband is serving his third tour in Iraq, says: "We didn't think it would go this far. Two years! What did I do?" Nobody was injured in the "McMissle" incident.

Why does the Government try to please all the different little groups instead of pleasing the majority. I am not saying that their opnion shouldnt be heard by why force it on everyone. I mean there are the atheists (sp?) who say it offends them to have the words under God in our pledge. Well guess what it offends me that they want to change it. So who is right? And all of the lesbian/gays who want equality and say we are discriminating against them, well when they force us to agree with them or else have them throw a major hissy fit and cause problems, isnt that kind of discriminating against us because we are straight and dont believe the same way? Now before you all start lecturing me I am giving you examples of things. I have a good friend who is a lesbian and has a "wife" and one of my cousins is a lesbian so I dont necessarily have any problem with them. I just have a problem that the radical ones try and force us to treat them equal.

My family is very controlling and always seems to know "what is best" for my seven year old son. They just come and take him away from the house while I am gone. I never know when he is coming back or anything. I live with my boyfriend and am nine weeks pregnant with our baby and this just needs to stop. They say that he is not able to watch my son while I am gone and just take him away. What can I do to end this control?

Laying flowers at the tomb of George Washington, in Mt. Vernon, George W. Bush replied, "I feel right at home here. After all, this is the home of the first George W."

What is he trying to do? Compare himself to the first George W.? Maybe, since he feels so much at home there that he would like to be buried right next to the first George W., or should I say George W. No. 1?

How dare he compare himself like that!

i think it's just what we need. the US will have to live with a minority president or a woman president. the racists and the people who are prejudiced against women will have to live with it, don't you think? i think it might open their eyes a bit if either one of them don't screw up the country worse than Bush has. [no offense to people who like Bush!]
