Yes Yes Yes.... Ted Kennedy has been a Senator since something like WW1 and the guy from west Virginia is something like 108. They aren't my senator but they do effect my country so I think we all have a right to say Term Limits For All Of Them. 8 years is enough time to get your job done and move on.

I disagree. The US Constitution had to be amended to allow for term limits on the President.
Some people like their representative and repeatedly vote him or her in. That's the American way. If there were term limits a good representative would be forced out of office. There is no way of knowing if someone better would replace him.

I disagree, but for an entirely different reason. Politicians have created such sweet pensions for themselves that if we had term limits everywhere, we'd be paying for way more idiots who could serve one term and then get to collect a pension and health benefits for life on our dime. From local government to Washington, they are all a bunch of power-hungry, money-grubbing do-nothings and we might as well stay with the ones who've been there than create new ones to have to support for life.

It's time for a person to only be elected once at the same level (State Senate, U.S. House, Presidency, etc.) And while I'm at it I would like to see a British-style vote of confidence system.

We already have term limits- it's called a vote. If you don't like who's in there, toss the scoundrels out!, get involved, knock on doors for the people you like.
Don't just set there and complain and expect things to change.

Term limits are there. It's called voting. The same idiots vote for the same idiots time and time again.
ie: ted the dread kennedy

While we're at it, get rid of their "special" retirement package and put them on Social (in)Security like the rest of us.

Then sit back and watch how fast it gets fixed!

make it mandatory for any president who finishes his terms, to be executed

then we will all know that they were not working for their own self interest, but out of genuine desire to do good for all
