I remember the 70s! No, we should not ask Iran to solve our problems, and we shouldn't cut and run. The sad thing, is we are in this situation now for whatever reason (i don't agree with why) and we need to see it through. Our troops should stay till democracy and order is established in Iraq. It will be a long and hard journey, just glad it's not me out there.

1st ; Pull all our troops out of harms way and surround the place, so none can slip through. Wherever the despots are surround it with our troops keeping out their shooting range.
2nd ; Drop leaflets on the area with an explanation of how, when, and where to go to surrender. The leaflet tells the time of the MOAB blast so they should surrender before that time comes.
3rd ; At the appointed time blast the place with a MOAB. Follow that with a Tomahawk carrying a fuel air explosive war head just as soon as the shock wave from the MOAB clears.
ALL the innocent were allowed to surrender and live.
The terrorists can't just surrender and can't get out the blast radius. The ones that manage to hide from the MOAB are taken care of with the fuel air explosive. The MOAB has a Nuke size blast but NO radiation. The fuel air explosive burns off all the oxygen on the heels of the MOAB blast shock wave clearance. IF ! some poor despot survives this. Shoot them from helicopters or from the Puff the Magic Dragon gun ships with the machine guns. The terrorists are all dead there so move on the next hot spot and do the same.
Iraq only has only a hand full towns to deal with like this. The fighting could be over in a week with no terrorists left alive in Iraq! The Iraqi oil should be set to pay for the war costs. Like Kuwait did ! This makes jobs for the Iraqis, pays us for the fighting we did, and ends the terrorist problem in Iraq!
NO more funding needed in week!
OUR soldiers are now there dieing for the crumbling buildings, the ones that are left partially standing. This is STUPIDITY on grand scale! Blast the crumbling mess and be done with it! It's going to need to be bulldozed to rebuild anyway!

I actually have a brother who as quickly as wounded via IED, and went back to Iraq on Feb, and although such somewhat some sturdy adult males/women persons have been lost there, i don't understand why we could continuously stay there for extra to be lost or injured. Iraqis under no circumstances experienced democracy, and to coach anybody some thing like this TAKES better than a militia showdown, it takes a solid relation with others, civilian interactions from the two Iraq and something of the international, and needless to say an prolonged persistence. Generations from now will purely undertake if it is carried on, not immediately's Iraqis.

No. Not cutting and running.
Take some time and watch this video. It is an interview with 3 former, now tolerant terrorist who have turned against that way of thinking. This interview was part of the AM Morning program on CN8 in New Jersey. It tells it like it is and will surprise you as to where al Queada is breeding terrorists and where their money is coming from.

It is NOT cutting and running to let the Iraqi's now decide their own future by leaving, I hate that so many did not even know the difference between Sunni and Shia prior to starting this ill fated war, these people have centuries of differences that only they can work out, let 'em is what I say & get our men and women out of their way

... well...
in a way I agree with you... but not in the way you probably mean...
most of the worry about Iraq is about the terrorists... right? the terrorists coming in and taking over if we leave... this seems to be the Repubilcan's main concern...
and the terrorist leadership positions really aren't in Iraq... according to anything I've ever seen, from the 9-11 report to every news story I've ever read...
so I want to go after the terrorist leadership... and leave Iraq...
with the terrorists on the defensive, they won't be able to attack Iraq, and Iraq can sort their own issues out... and then we're actually going after the terrorists and eliminating them at the root...
it's a win-win-win... we leave Iraq (which without terrorists will be stable), kill terrorists leadership and put a huge dent in the terrorist network...
staying in Iraq killing terrorist foot solders won't accomplish much... they have many foot soldiers to send...but strike the leadership... they have few competent leaders... even if they are replaced, it will be a much lower caliber of leadership... no one capable of a 9-11...

What we need to do in Iraq is simply declare victory, and get the f**k out.
Think about it - the US military went in to accomplish several goals, and they have been successful at each and every one of them:
1) Remove Saddam - Check
2) Remove any obstacles to weapons inspectors - Check
3) Install a democratic government/constitution and hold free elections - Check
By keeping US soldiers in Iraq - we are making it look like they did not accomplish the tasks that were given to them. Now they are expected to deal with an insurgency that they have no way of defeating. They aren't given sufficient equipment, armor, etc - and Dubya's only plan is to send a 'surge' of additional unequipped soldiers to Iraq.
It's time to wake the f**k up people. You've been had.

I would get all US troops out of the entire MIddle East. let the Iraqis work out thier own problems. Build Army bases all along the border. Kick out all Illegals and seal the border. Stop all aid to Israel. make freinds with the Iranians, they have oil Israel has Bagels, you can't run your car on bagels.

I would move all of the American troops to the borders to stop Iran and other countries from interfering, and then I would allow the Iraqis to blow each other off the map until they got tired of killing one another and decided to act like human beings.

Outside of sending 3-400,000 troops we don't seem to have, I think you're idea is a little naive.
I say getting out of an unwinnable war is not "cuttting and runing"(lick me. by the way); it's keeping our troops from dying for nothing.
