In the providence of jurisprudence, how would austin explain or account for the idea that there is a moral obligation tob obey the law? Does the mere fact that something is the law supply a reason for compliance with it? Does the claim that something is the "law" or is "lawful" carry with it any moral or normative connotation?

I am a canadian citizen, and i am just a ordinary lady who beleives in justice..I have had not a easy life, i have 3 grown sons which are good men,but have had there problems,,In ways we all have. But tonight i am troubled,I have watched DOG duane chapman and his family for along time on tv,and with respect..The family now needs every person who ever had a son or daughter,to stand up and fight for this family...If they are sent back to mexico, then we failed. No matter who we are or what we stand for, this is a fight we all must take on..For if a family is brave enough to catch a man who raped and brutilized just one woman then they deserve to be heros, but this family went out and got the rich guy who no doubt would have hid for ever..But they made a promise and kept it,and now are being punished, So i say to all write letters, make calls and have protests but fight for this family, For if we don`t who is safe, in this world if the good are punished for helping our sons and daughters.

Now, this Marine By the name of Pennington that "Yell" Came back to haunt him...got 8 years in prison. Read On...During Pennington's plea-agreement for 8 years and sentencing hearing, prosecutors played video footage that showed him making statements about wanting to "kill Iraqis". ( This came back to hang him ) In addition, a co-defendant testified that Pennington mocked Awad's bullet-riddled brain and played with the man's hand as he put the corpse into a body bag. So, Could my Nephew go to prison if he fights in Iraq and kills the so called enemy that war supporters say is protecting the USA freedom.

Is this a good idea to have judges letting criminal defendants serve in Iraq instead of going to jail?

If they are willing to serve, should we honor their service just as much as we would anyone else's and forgive their crimes when they return.

Roman slaves and criminals could were able to earn their freedom by serving as gladiators for a certain period of time.

Maybe the Army should keep it's high standards, and not allow violent felons to serve in the military. This approach would shut up those who believe the troops are in Iraq are there because they didn't do well in college. Allowing felons to serve in the military will give ammunition to those who wish to demean the troops.

The future of this country hinges on your answer to this question. What do you think?

Italy is having their lil' anti US base whine fest. South Korea has one every few months. I say we move out of these countries -- and they can't have it both ways. If North Korea wants to eat Soul for lunch, don't call us for help. See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya. Pick a lane. Do you agree?

My boyfriend has been seperated from his x girlfriend for over 7 yrs. In the last 2 yrs she has brought against him an order for support in the family court. He is a biological to one of the children but not the second. She is indicating he was an acting father to the child and he should be responsible for the child support. The biological father is getting off free. He is racking up legal fees which he has no money to pay to fight this issue. He had't been involved in either of the childrens live for 5 yrs after the relationship ended. The mother wouldn't allow him access to his child let alone his non biological child. She is on legal aid and all her expensise are covered but there is no justice system for him. He has resolved access and support for his child however she is still tying up the courts time and the expenses of legal aid. As advised by the judge "he should agree to disagree and pay her the support as it would be less expensive for him the the long run."
