I don't think the real Brian Williams would be asking this question, but I'll try it.
First, it depends on what woman. With the way society has changed, plus the fact almost any woman who would be in a position to run for President does not have to worry about raising children or running a family, the perceived cons of having more to do with one's children do not really exist. And, with many successful women, the husband takes a much more active role in the family.
I think the Margaret Thatchers, Indira Gandhis, Golda Meirs, and Corizone Aquinos have shown women are more than capable of being important world leaders. I do not think leaders around the world would see a President as weak simply based on gender.
If I could comment about Nancy Pelosi, who I think is an absolute train wreck as a leader. Pelosi decides a lot of issues- such as the Murtha Majority Leader and the demotion of Jane Harmon as Intelligence chair- on her emotions and loyalty. Now certain male leaders have done the same things, it just seems, and pardon the phrase, someone like Pelosi is just more "catty" about it. I think this would haunt not only Pelosi, but be a con against a female President who acted similarly.

I don't think in terms of pro and con for having a female as President. It shouldn't make any difference. If it does then maybe there's a problem.

Pros; End forever the debate over such a trivial issue. Make a precedent that will stand forever as a turning point in human rights in the US. Make the ERA a moot point. Call into light even more bias and prejudice. Equalize the genders to the highest office in the country. Open the horizon to millions of little girls all over the country and beyond to other places. Give me more interest in Presidential speeches besides noting how long GWB's waddle is getting.
Cons; They elect someone based on gender and not qualifications and they stink at it for four years. We've already had that, so not much of a Con. Our President will probably be called 'Mrs'. President so often with that "significant" tone that I will become more prone to vomit while watching aired Press conferences. Our President will not likely be allowed to visit countries who are hostile toward women and that may affect our diplomatic missions in those countries. Barbara Walters will be televised in front of such glaring light to interview her that my retinas become scorched. The never ending talk on ET about what kind of shoes the President is wearing.

It would depend on the specific person. As far as pros and cons related gender, it would be no different than a male.

Cons: With a few rare exceptions, women are too emotional, irrational, and often downright hysterical to lead.
Pros: I can't think of any pros, except that maybe having a female president would make us all feel nurtured and loved.

not any different than if it were a male president. its not about the sex of the candidate. the question is can they do the job?
look at bush, he's white and male and he's the worst president ever. its about the persons vision for the country and if they are smart and a hardworker and likeable. as for hillary, i dont know that she is the best person, but lets wait and see.

Females are more emotionally driven, and have a hard time standing strong in difficult situations. I can't think of any advantages right now.
