I haven't heard those comments. I heard him say the United States should enforce it's border and it's immigration laws.
There is a legal process for immigrating to the United States. Maybe it needs to be changed or improved, I don't know. But I do know that just letting anybody sneak into the country is a bad system.
I have a feeling he didn't say anything racist. You're probably just calling him racist because you have no legitimate argument for illegal immigration. When people have no legitimate argument, they often turn to demonizing their opponents and pretending the debate is about something else (i.e. race or immigration instead of what it is really about, which is ILLEGAL immigration).
