Work with me here: suppose we do have intelligence and diplomatic information that a radical Islamic government in Iraq would pose a serious threat for another 9-11 -like attack in the US in the next 5 years.

Would it be worth American lives now to deter that threat?

I'd like to just get well-reasoned, well thought out answers, please. Show me how intelligent you can get with your response - I've already seen plenty of comments here on the level of "Bush is a dork." Of course, if that's the most intelligent answer you can come up with...

We've called Animal Control and all they can do is tell him to stop and he just comes right back. He's squatting secretly in front of the property next to us with signs posted that say "No Trespassing". Technically, he is still trespassing and it's not legal to just live on someone's curb, but all the police can do is shoe him away (then he just camps in his van on some other corner nearby and just comes back after a while). It seems like the only way to solve the cat problem is to get a restraining order to where he can't be within 500 feet of this area. Do we have enough for a case? We have been dealing with this for 3 years and just can't seem to find a fix. Please help!!!

Europe gets a lot of bad press in USA and visa versa.. so its kinda hard for citizens to make opinions that aren't biased..

My view is that Europe is the rightful cradle of civilisation on Earth.. most major inventions and human developments stemmed from Europe.. as did most global citizens.. lets face it even USA came from Europe in the beggining.. it was discovered by Europeans and built using European ingenuity..

Sure.. USA won the war.. and left Europe a dump.. while it got ahead.. but it seems times have changed.. Europe has rebuilt and USA is facing mass recession..

So who holds the keys to the future of this planet.. is it USA with all its wars and its insistance that a military solution is the right solution.. or Europe who has rattified Kyoto years ago.. has made real impacts on global warming and who has not started a war since WW2.. they've all been UK and USA since WW2.. ohh.. and Israel..

so who do u trust with the future .. Europe or Israel/US

For some reason it seemed that yesterday everyone was getting pulled over , well at least 2 other people I know in town, it seems like me and one of my other friends who got pulled over around the same place got the same ticket.... for running a yellow light? Is there a new law in oregon I don't know about or are the state troopers having to meet some kind of quota? of course this ticket is going to be contested but will I have a better chance of doing the trial under affidavit or just going to court, And if we go to court will he have to bring the recording even if it is against him? He stated on tape he felt it was a close call but felt I really should not have gone through that yellow light which would acually be helpful for me I think :) your thoughts please ... oh and the ticket for running a yellow light, my very first ticket! $242.00

Why doesn't the U.S. open their borders like Mexico opens ours to our neighbors to the south?? They can learn a lot from us!!!!
Why do Americans only hate Mexican aliens??
100% of the illegal aliens in the U.S. are hard workers, they all pay their taxes, no one steals IDs or social security #s. None of them work "under the table". None of them break any laws!!!!!!
There are no criminals, or drugs, or people with diseases coming into the U.S. through the southern border, only hard working people that want to support their families!!!!
Almost all white people use drugs, and it's their fault that there are drugs in the U.S. because of them!!!!!

I remember jumping up and down years ago about global warming.. and all we ever got from our top leaders in UK, USA and Australia.. was that it wasn't a real issue..

NOW FINALLY.. an acknowledgment.. for the first time and despite we still havnt ratified the Kyoto protocal..

My view is one of anger.. anger that the people in society are being totally ignored.. EVERYONE knows about global warming!! YET our Governments have until this week.. ignored it even existed..

Does this fact represent a total failure of Government and all but prove that anarchy is a better way to go..

The Governments set us on societies path.. so one cannot blame individuals who use greenhouse gases.. plus most greenhouses gas is produced by business.. not individuals..

Is it time perhaps that we abandon the pursuit of wealth.. and start fixing the environment?? Start helping the poor and healing the sick??

Or are we all going to try outdo each other forever??
