I'm especially interested in any answers making a case for the non-front runners like, say, Richardson or Hagel, etc.

Would they then have the State and Federal Government give the serious attention to their unresolved urban gun violence, poorly run public schools and drug war issues deserve?
Would the economy suffer enough to justfy a truce on the Drug War and maybe legalize Marijuana alone.
Would staying home and keeping your children out of public schools for a week have a greater effect on politics than minorities marching or rioting, Just save up a weeks worth of money and stay home.

Need to hear if allowing prisoners to fight in the war in Iraq instead of drafting our young men and women and forcing them to fight. After a pre-dertimined time fighting they would be allowed to return to USA as pardoned individuals.

... does that mean Newt Gingrich should get the credit for the economy and everything that Dems swear Clinton accomplished?

Which is it? Did Clinton accomplish anything? Or was he at the mercy of the Republican Congress?

I am going to be leaving for Navy boot camp in the next month and I was wondering if there were any sailors or ex-Navy out there who could give me some pointers or words of wisdow on what to expect. My recruiter has already told me about learning the eleven general orders, sailor's creed, rank and recognition, ect...But I have also heard that these recruiters have been known to stretch the truth from time to time and not tell the whole story so I was just wondering what else I can do. Just want to be prepared and make the most of it. Any information will be helpful. Thanks.

Democrats seem to hate Republicans. Republicans seem to hate Democrats. Does it take a disaster like 9-11 to bring us together? Or can we acknowledge that we all love this country and we all want to keep it great?

Clinton never gave even one dollar of federal money to American grandmas who needed to buy medicines.

Now 90% of seniors have coverage and Bush gives over $60 billion in help each year to our grandparents.

As an American, this has always confused me.
I admire European society and politics in general because they are much more liberal and progressive than American society and politics.

However, on the issue of separation of church and state, Europe is really backwards. They still have official state religions. They even teach religion in public school!

If Europeans are so progressive, why do they do this?

What makes this even stranger is that Europeans are much less religious than Americans. Far fewer Europeans go to church than Americans. Yet we Americans are the ones who were progressive enough to separate church and state (and have been so since the founding of our country in 1776!)

(yes, I know there are some inconsistencies, such as "in God we trust" being printed on our money, and pledging on the Bible in court, but overall we have more separation of church and state than Europe, and ours is in our constitution)

I asked the question about a consultant being asked for their SS# and was told its the law to 1099 someone who you pay over $600.00. If your attorney or a decorator (for your bussiness) does over $600.00 do you get there ss# and 1099 them?. Or if in ones business you go to the hair salon everyday to look good for your job you are paying over 600.00 in a year do you 1099 them. Or your attorney...you consult with him about your business...do you 1099 him. where is the difference? I don't understand this..

Willys cynical thought for the fugging day;

People who love sausage and respect the law should never watch either of them being made!

TAXES

What Happened? At first I thought this was funny...then I realized the awful truth of it. Be sure to read all the way to the end!

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat, (See Devo & RR you ain't immune! LMAO)
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ***

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

Put these words
upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me
to my doom..."

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

COMMENTS: Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened??? And I still have to "press 1" for English I hope this goes around the world 10 times.......
