That was not altruism though it was good for seniors. The Bush family is in the Pharmaceutical business, and the more money seniors have to buy Bush products, the more money the family makes.

Bush doesn't even know where that money's comong from, because someone else will have to pay the bill when he's gone!
2009!
"Perhaps the best single example of lack of spending discipline was the Medicare prescription-drug benefit Congress passed--and the President eagerly signed--in late 2003. By the administration's own (undoubtedly conservative) calculations, the new Medicare drug benefit will cost $ 60 billion a year by 2009. Without it, Medicare spending was expected to rise around 6% annually. With the drug benefit, Medicare spending is likely to jump over 10% a year. It's a budget breaker if ever there was one."

The Prescription Drug software is broken. believe me, I used to artwork for it. I provide up by way of fact I felt the plans have been unethical. Grandma has to p.c.. from thousands of distinctive plans with distinctive formularies, quotes, and deductibles. some will conceal her prescriptions, some won't. some will basically conceal generics which will make her unwell. some have what's referred to as a "donut hollow" while they are going to basically pay lots and then after that they are going to provide up protecting till she reaches a undeniable "catastrophic" shrink. some plans might have quotes of $25 one 365 days, and then the subsequent 365 days, they are going to strengthen the charges to $a hundred and twenty and that they gained't circulate out of their thank you to be sure grandma is conscious till she overdraws interior the financial agency. If grandma needs help figuring out on, she will't circulate everywhere solid for help the two. The a million-800-Medicare hotline is administered via a gaggle of call centers that basically prepare their workers for a million to 3 weeks earlier they placed them on the floor. the different companies meant to help them like deliver are all clogged by way of fact such fairly some people want help the gadget won't be able to look after it. God bless Bush's ridiculous software (it needs it). on the different hand, Bush and his party have been people who made it unlawful to purchase greater inexpensive drugs from Canada. They have been additionally people who shot down the Clintons' conventional Healthcare Plan interior the 90s. how a lot of people died from that?

For most of his presidency the congress was controlled by the republicans. Clinton proposed a comprehensive medical coverage plan that would have included prescription coverage. It got voted down and the republicans offered up nothing in it's place.

Did you even speak to your grandparents before posting this question?? I have spoken to mine and each one of them (3 sets of grandparents plus one grandmother) have said that they can barely afford their drugs, they have to make sacrifaces in order to buy them...sometimes they skip buying a medication over another so they can take the most important one...I'll tell ya where that 60 billion is going...its going directly to the big drug companies in tax windfalls. Thanks for your generalization and bigotry....If your statement/question is true then why are grandparents going through the internet to buy drugs from Canada/mexico????...Hello...McFly...is there anybody in there??

As I remember it Clinton wanted a comprehensive national health care system - and the cons shot him down. If he had gotten his way this whole argument would be moot.
and no ruth - secular progressivism isn't a religion. Only someone who misunderstands religion would say that.

Bill Clinton was nothing more than a flag in the wind. Every single one of his accomplishments is actually an accomplishment of the GOP in Congress.
